Users do not receive their activation email?
To prevent spam on forums, the administrator has to manually activate new members as long as the forum is without activity
What the...?

Re: Users do not receive their activation email?
Well I've heard complains from users that they are unable to activate their accounts throughout the email (like they normally do). They said they received some message after registering that the Admin has to activate their accounts.
So I tried to get to the bottom of this and went to Users & Groups -> User Options -> New accounts activation :
No activation User Admin
User is the one turned on, so I presume it should work. But beneath this, the following message is written in a maroon-like color: To prevent spam on forums, the administrator has to manually activate new members as long as the forum is without activity

Re: Users do not receive their activation email?
Hello,
Forumotion has an anti spam mechanism, this mechanism makes it so if a forum is inactive, it will make an administrator activate all new accounts regardless of what the setting is set to. Once your forum becomes more active, it will begin to follow your setting and send the activation e-mails. There is nothing that can be done to change this as it is done serverside. Until your forum is more active, you will unfortunately have to activate all accounts manually in the ACP (Admin panel).
Sorry ,

But this isn't right... How do I know how active the forum needs to be? I keep recruiting people to a forum and they say they didn't receive the emails, this is very frustrating...

Activity includes: number of new members, number of new posts/topics/messages, number of logging in and off, etc.

It just means you have to activate it in the admin panel, after yoh do that, the new users can use their accounts. Just activate their accounts for them. Unfornatelly I don't know what Forumotion's exact creteria for being an active forum is, but its probably a certain amount of posts and users logging in within a set period of time.
