Sorting of new users upon registration

Hello!

My question - is there a way to sort a user to a specific group/ give him a specific value in a profile field by the options user chooses during the registration. In other words, is there a way to make/add a quiz to the registration, whitchs results would be applied to a specific profile field or etc?

My forum version is PhpBB2.
If such question was already discussed, I would be grateful for the link to it

I will try to make an example

Lets say you are doing registration form. You accept the terms and conditions, then you add the necessary profile information and DONE. You activate your account and you're good to go.

I would like to add sort of a quiz in the registration process (after/before terms and conditions acceptance). Where for example would be such questions:
"Fav color? *blue *red *Black"
"Fav band? *HIM *JB *LP"
"..."
The result of this quiz f.e. "Friendly" "Loner" "Cheerful" would automatically appear in the users profile OR user would be automatically added to such groups like "Loners".

Does this sound more understandable?

No sorry there is no code that we have right now that will give you what you want as the terms and conditions page is a default page and you can not make a change to that as it is there by law.

the only way you can add a quiz is to add it to your members profile but it will not give a rank on the profile it will just show the things they have picked when making the account.

Hm. So there is no way to have quiz results automatically added or applied to the user, I understand correctly? (taking to account, that quiz could be presented in any place, not only in the registration process)

The problem is making the quiz add the result to a rank added to your profile's the ranks can only be changed by hand

so no matter where the quiz is your profile data will not be changed without the aid of you or a staff member

Hm. If the data cannot be changed (as well as user sorting to a group, I assume) is there a way to automatically have the result displayed in other ways? Post?

Not from making a change in your profile but maybe with a quiz added to to a post and when you fill out the form it will post your result.

If you want the results to appear in the profiles, you have to create the profile fields and check the boxes for where you want them to appear: profile and/or profile in message. If you want them to be part of the registration process, you will need to check the yes box for necessary filled.

No, I want to make sort of assessment type quiz, where end result determines what group new user will be assigned to.

I thought you want the results to show up in members' profiles.

the only way we can make a member get added to a group is to make a Group on your Forum and set it to one post or more then when the member makes the account they are asked to fill in the forum made in a post and then when the member makes that one post the rest of the forum will open up and they will be added to the group.

I have made this before but it was a code that was set just in the main forum that the member copy and pasted then make a new post and filled in the form and made a post then the member was auto added to the forum for posting.

No, this would not work. I like the idea about automatic post with the result more. But I don't imagine how that could work code vise.
