Moving a post to another topic?

PLease, how do you move a post to another topic?  

I had posted this before and it was marked solved and archived but it never got solved for me.

Hi there,

The only way I know how to move posts from one topic to another is simply splitting the topic apart via the Mod Tools. After selecting the posts you want removed from that topic and then splitting it, you merge the posts you took out into the topic you want them moved too. Sorry if that sounds confusing but it's a quickened explanation. I can go into more details if you like.

Yes i can Confirm this is the only way to do it.

lol oh geeez.

Well can you go into more detail and give me the steps as I tried and it didnt work for me...so I must done something wrong.

If you can give me a few, I can try and give you as much detail as possible.

1.) You can either 'split the topic' via Moderator Control Panel or Mod Quick Tools.
2.) After selecting to 'split the topic', select all the posts you want to be taken out of there and then click 'Split selected posts'. You can name the title anything you want as well as choosing where you want the split topic to be moved to.
3.) Click on the new thread you created with the posts you wanted to be moved and then 'merge the topic' via Moderator Control Panel or Mod Quick Tools.
4.) After selecting to 'merge the topic', choose the new thread you want to move the posts into and then click 'enter'. You have to confirm a few times before the threads merge into one.

That guide to mod tools does not show how to move a post...it shows how to move a topic.

You move the post by splitting the topic into two separate ones.

Splitting
1. Go into the topic, totally down to where you can reply to it. Just below the (fast) reply field on the right you'll see the moderation tools
2. Choose SPLIT: http://prntscr.com/acakc5
For the next steps, use this screendump: http://prntscr.com/acamei
3.1 Enter a new topic title for the message(s)
3.2 Select the forum location where it / they need to go
3.3 Select the messages you want to be moved
3.4 Select the button in the screendump ('move selected'?)
A message will appear the message(s) has / have been moved

Merging
1. To merge for example the split message(s) with another topic (and its posts), go into the source topic (not the destination topic) and click this moderation tool: http://prntscr.com/acaov6. In this example I'll move back my split post to the original topic again.
2. Select the target topic: http://prntscr.com/acapwi (not SEND yet, I screendumped that one wrong, sorry)
3. Choose your destination topic. At the top you can switch forum views. Select the target forum and hit 'Go', then select the target topic. When done hit SEND at the bottom http://prntscr.com/acara9
4. Next, hit SEND when sure everything's OK: http://prntscr.com/acas1x
5. Confirm: http://prntscr.com/acasuw
6. In the end it will bring you to your target topic so you can see the results.
