Forum Permissions Not Working

I've searched [here] to see if there was a similar report, but - I saw nothing.

Can someone tell me why they believe the forum permissions check boxes do not disallow access -when- they are unchecked?

When they ARE unchecked, and saved - they show as 'allowed access' [checked] when I go back to the user permissions.

I have tried working in Google Chrome & Firefox, and still have the same issue.

It would seem that I created a group for everyone to receive 'Group PM's'... I was able to modify the permissions of this group, and then modify the permissions of the user in question.

Although - he does not have access to specific parts of the forum, and his permissions show this -but- he is still able to access area that I do not want to allow access to.

Any ideas?

Edit: I am looking at each members permissions

It depends on which group that member belongs to.  The member will get the permissions from the highest group.

I believe - as I go through each section in AP > General > Forum > Categories & Forums? I am finding my own mistakes in setting up permissions for each section.

I'll mark this as Resolved, and be sure to pay closer attention before acting like there is a major issue.
