Solved Forumotion Sites Blocked in countries?

Post by Nintenex Fri 15 Apr - 22:37

I notice sometimes people have trouble visiting the site from a different country, I'm not sure if its even that, The URL of my site is running perfectly fine but some people that visit have issues, The site isn't down..

What could be causing this issue, how can i check to see if my site is blocking visitors from other countries?

Are members getting a blocked message?  If they are, please post a screenshot of the message.  Usually the forum itself is not blocking your members, but the countries (governments) are doing the blocking.

I think i found out what the problem is, but there isn't a solution just yet. The problem is my URL is being hosted from Dreamhost and from what i was told, Forumotion doesn't do with urls hosted from other sites and that can cause connection and server problems for forumotion.

If there is a quick way i can cancel my payments for my domain on dreamhost and fully host it on Forumotion without having my forum go down for a few days, let me know, I will gladly terminate my connections with dreamhost once and for all. I've had so many domain issues with them.

What happens when you use the free domain provided by forumotion? Yes, you can purchase a domain with credits.

its not a matter of you can't get a new domain from us.

Its a matter that you can't buy the same domain name from us until it has run out fro your own Host.

to change right now you would have to buy a new name from us and your old domain name will no longer work

as I told you before.

No all you have to do is go in your ACP >> Misc Tab >>  Forumotion Sites Blocked in countries? Gestion_points Credits management >> Buy credits When you have got the credits you can then go and get your Domain name.

ACP >> Misc Tab >>  Forumotion Sites Blocked in countries? Gestion_points Credits management >> Spend credits >>

Your new domain will take anything fro 24 to 48hrs and your forum will keep your old domain until the new one is In place.

you should get a Email when your account is setup.

there is no need to tell the other host your changing over.

Have you contacted the provider of the domain name to see if they can help solve the issue?

@SLGray @Ape @Sir Chivas™️

So, I have finally left dreamhost Due to the constant stress they have caused me, They're very slow moving company and doesn't provide help to those who are entirely new to their company. But guess what these guys did!? bwi

after i canceled my services with them, payed my 10.95 for the month of hosting then they decided to hold onto my domain and is holding it hostage ! I hate them so much right now! Waaa Waaa Waaa Waaa

as I told you before.
i did tell you they would do that SEE in my last post.

Your domain name is owned by your last host you have to let it run out of date by them before you can buy it gain.

you left the host before it run out or the date it was due to run out.

As i also said that you will have to buy a new domain name from us if you left the other host as the host is not anything to do with us in any way.

You can't just leave some other host and get the same address as you had before as it will not go on sale for weeks after.

what you should have done is go in the ACP of your forum and see if the address was ready if it says NO its not available then its not on sale at that time.

I did tell you to hold on until the domain you already had ran out and then to try our system.

If you did not understand  you should have asked about this more before moving over.
