keep getting redirected to forumotion when trying to get on other sites

Hi,

I'm having this problem on my home computer. I use google crome on my macbook at home and sometimes when I'm trying to go on other sites i will instead get redirected to forumotions page that says theres some kind of error or something. Sorry not on home computer now so don't remember what page says. Also I have/had facebook bookmarked and instead of the facebook icon there was the little forumotion green guy that you have at the top, and everytime I clicked on it it would redirect me to forumotions. I deleted the bookmark but i still got redirected here when I typed in facebook.

Has anyone else had this problem and what can i do to fix it.

I do not have a screen shot as I am not on my home computer...sorry...I didn't have time this morning before i had to leave. When I get home I will screenshoot it and post it here.

OK SO I'M HOME NOW BUT I'M NOT GETTING REDIRECTED RIGHT NOW SO I CAN'T GIVE A SCREEN SHOT.
CAN YOU PLEASE LEAVE THIS TOPIC OPEN AT LEAST THRU THE WEEKEND AS THIS PROBLEM COMES AND GOES. IF IT HASNT' HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN BY MON YOU CAN TRASH THIS TOPIC AND I WILL JUST REOPEN IT WHEN IT DOES AND I HAVE A SCREEN SHOT TO SHOW YOU.

Please avoid from using caps as it is considered screaming and is very hard to read.

The Problem hasn't repeated itself all weekend (really hoping it would so you could see what i'm talking about) so I guess close this topic and when it happens again (its happened to me twice already) I will take screen shots and post them in a new topic.

Hi,

Well I'm starting to have the problem again but this time its a little different. It seems to be affecting my facebook. instead of getting the little green forumotion guy now i have green comment bubble icon that is the same as my forum icon on my computer check out the screen shot below

The icon i annotated is on my tool bar for both my forum and facebook.

When I click on facebook icon or type in face book in browser I get this eror.

The weird thing is that when I first posted this problem the icon was little green forumotion guy and I was being redirected to a forumotion page that was giving me this same error message. It had the forumotion header and everything now however i'm getting just the url error you see above. Very confused.

Right now it just seems to be affecting my facebook but again when i first posted the problem it was affecting other sites as well.

I'm sorry but I really don't know how to help you Confused

Maybe some other people will be able to give you an explanation, but on my side I can't really help you as it doesn't seem to be a Forumotion issue.
Also, the screenshots are a little too small, it's difficult to see anything. Wink

But I guess it's an issue with your computer or with your browser maybe.

Thanks Leeloo for looking at it. I'm really hoping some one has encountered something like this or knows how to make it stop, cuz its kinda freaking me out.

Like I said the first Couple times it happened it redirected me to the forumotion site with error message. This time it just gave me an error message. Everytime it happens it changes my facebook icon with either the forumotion green guy or the little green convo bubble in the snap shot above. The little green convo bubble is always what my forum icon looks like on my computer.

Also last nite when I tried to get back on forumotion help I got an error message 404. It didn't give a description just the error 404.

If any one has any ideas of what I can do I would really appreciate it.

It sounds like you might malware, spyware or a virus. I would run all my scanners to check. Are you using a toolbar for the bookmarks? A lot of toolbars out there have many issues with them, some are full of spyware and viruses that redirect and highjack.

In any event, run the programs you have, and if you don't have malwarebytes program download this and run a full scan. They have a free version that will remove what it finds, the paid version has real-time protection, but all you need right now is the free version to run a scan.

THANKS Runaway horses. I checked out computer its virus etc free.
I spoke with someone that told me the problem might be with google chrome. Apprently some users have an issue with being redirected to a blank page when doing a search.
I dont know why it was mostly affecting my fb or why it would sometime direct me to this site but as long as it stops and i dont have any virus/malware etc its all good. I deleted and reinstalled chrome. it dont know if this fixed the problem but I will mark this as solved for now and hope for the best.
