Forum Backup
Hello. Can a forum backup be reversed? I accidentally did a full backup today and lost 99% of my content. Any help would really be appreciated. This is a huge loss for me. And I'm kinda freaking out =/. Thanks.

Re: Forum Backup
Yes you can get your forum back to how it was but you do have a limit on the number of backups you can do in one 24hr space i think its 3 or 4
so if you did the backup
how it was meant to be done you should have backed up your forum 2 times already. is this right ?
To get your forum back to how it was before the backup you need to do a full backup on the second date in your drop down list this will out your forum back to the that date then when that's done you will have to do a backup of the first date in your drop down list this will then put your forum back to the most resent date.
Now if you have already hit the limit the forum can not be backed up until at-least 12 to 24hrs as this is a limit on our system as the system needs to catch up with your forum

Re: Forum Backup
Well that's my problem right now and why i'm freaking out so much. In the founders tools under backup dates I only have one date... and that date is 7 days ago. That's why I lost so much content. And I've only done one backup. I haven't touched it since and after realizing what I had done. I don't know why there is only one date in the drop down. That's why I'm hoping it can be done on forumotions side if they have more backups I can't see or access. And thats all I'd want. Is the most recent backup available.

Hello @sterbensie,
Concerning this forum http://www.entmtone.com/, it was created on the 17 of July 2016 and there is only one backup available, the one you did (21 of July) so I'm not sure we can help you.

Re: Forum Backup
Hello Leviosa. Are their any options or chance of getting it backed up? Or even some of the content backed up? I was hoping that forumption kept their own separate backups. And do you know why my forum wasn't creating daily backups?

sorry for the 2nd post here but its a reply to the member
We only do a weekly backup of the forums. to do a Daily back up would take to much server space up and as you know we are a free forum host and this would cost more money and then we would have to put a fee on your forum so this is not something we will look in to as then we would no longer be a free to all host.
Re: Forum Backup
@Ape, I'll ask but I'm not sure.

So if my last backup was on the 21st, I was only hours away from my next backup? Now I really feel bad. And yea, I understand why you would only do weekly backups.

Re: Forum Backup
Depending on where you are in the world is when its done but yes most of the time its done on the end of the Wednesday or Thursday night when the system is not used so much by the members.
so if your in the UK say the system would be less used at 1al so our backup will be done at about 1am then it would be the same for the usa there get the back up at 1am there time so there is a gap on backups all over the world and then our system don't get over loaded and slow down.

Re: Forum Backup
Hello,
Did you do the back up today? If so, are you sure it deleted content? I see posts that are from yesterday on there when I view your forum. If you did it today and lost content, then those would not be there I believe, as the posts werent there on the 21st, at the time of your last backup.
Unless I am mistaken, some how. .

Yes I did the backup approximately 2 hours ago. And yes, it deleted about 300 posts. And I'm not sure why those posts are still there. But that's a great question.

or maybe our staff are doing what they was asked to do so please don't do anything else until we get word back from our pro admin as this could mess up what we are trying to do our end

Re: Forum Backup
I did a full backup. And no, I only did it once. And there are a lot of errors on the site atm. The backup messed a lot of things up.
