Description of problem

A few years back there was an Administrator who went rogue on the Forum I am on. He ended up deleting a bunch of user accounts, many of which had thousands of posts. It probably totaled around 20,000 posts. Now these posts are under "Guest," with no identifier except the IP address.

Anyway, I was among the users deleted, and at the time I had a little over 4000 posts. I was wondering if there was any way to reclaim these posts. I can edit in a name, but only up to 8 characters, and the posts won't be attached to my account. Based on IP address I think there is a way to discover whose posts are whose, so if there was just a way to reattach these posts to accounts, I could fix a lot of the forum archives.

Thanks in advance for your help.
