Spoiler Tags Won't Open on Chrome

Pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. I click on the tag, it does nothing. They work in Edge, but not Chrome. The reason I'm hesitant to use Edge is that I just got all of my bookmarks to synchronize using Chrome, & I'm tired of having to rebuild them every time something happens to my computer. The last time I remember successfully opening a spoiler tag was sometime in November, so this happened some time after that, for seemingly no reason.

Anyway, I've tried clearing the cache (& cookies, browsing history), updating Chrome, & updating Java, but none of those have solved the problem so far. Doing a search & looking through the FAQ, I couldn't find mention of a similar problem. Spoiler tags seem to work on Reddit, but they also don't require you click those to open them. I'm not really registered on many forums at the moment, making it difficult to judge the full extent of the problem.

Any help would be appreciated, because I'm running out of ideas to try, & Edge is creepily whispering "they always come crawling back" into my left ear.

Is this happening on all devices or a certain one?

Following SLGray's request, could you allow a topic opened for guests in your forum to see the problem? To test it and see if it's only your problem or if it happens to everyone. At least I use chrome and I might be able to reproduce the problem

Sorry, this topic kind of slipped my mind. Busy time of year, y'know? Anyway, in answer to Question 1, it appears I can open them on my phone. Most topics on the board are set so guests can see them, but here's a link to a subtopic with a lot of spoiler tags in it, so you don't have to go hunting for one.

I found nothing wrong with your spoiler bbcode. Which device and browser are you using?

Try to open that link in Incognito mode and tell us if the issue is still here.

I neither have any problem opening the spoiler, and I use Chrome. That means the problem it's only yours so you'll have to find out what's the problem and fix it. Unfortunately, I don't think we can do a lot to help you fix it.

No, it didn't work on Incognito mode either.

Well, thanks for trying. I'm still kind of hoping Sark has an idea of what might be causing it, because I don't have a clue.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies in chrome to see if it helps?

Edit: Never mind, if it is doing it incognito mode it probably isn't your cache or cookies. I don't know, might just be a problem with your chrome. I qould try uninstalling it and re installing and seeing if it solves the issue.

I'm afraid it didn't, though I didn't do the thing that would delete the bookmarks, because I wasn't sure if it'd delete them across devices, & also I didn't see how it would make fixing the problem more likely.

Yes it would remove your bookmarks on chrome on that pc, but any on you phone, tablet, etc would still be there. Often times when browsers start having issues that clearing cache and cookies can not solve, uninstalling and re installing the browser often solves all issues it was having, because it is reset back to scratch.

It would most likely solve your issue, as we have already figured out it is a browser issue, not an issue with your forum. Aside from clearing cache, cookies and making sure browser is up to date, uninstalling and re installing the browser is really the only trouble shooting options you have.

I made sure the browser was updated. The only reason I think it might delete them on the phone is because I didn't bookmark things separately on it, I imported all of the bookmarks from my computer's Chrome, using the synchronization feature. But if you're absolutely sure they'll stay there so I can import them back, then I'll try that as soon as I get the chance.

I would think once their imported to your phone they will stay there as it should be stored on the phone's internal memory once imported. Now I am not 100% certain, but I can't see why the phone wouldn't store it internally.
