Post by gene January 2nd 2018, 2:39 am

I am trying to disable users from deleting posts in the permissions. When i untick Delete its own messages and attachments the presets in Write topics or messages which i have set to members disappears and is blank. I still want members to post. How can i set this to members with out it disappearing.

Hi @gene

There's a way Smile Please follow this steps:
Admin Panel > General > Categories and Forums > Click the Disabling users from deleting posts Ca6aabea0958dcb178fa777210603e2e button next to the forum you don't want members deleting posts on > Click "Advanced" > "Delete its own messages" > Members box unticked > Save > Repeat for each forum.

Greetings.

The problem is it is still deleting Write topics or messages and goes blank. Please see pictures. https://imgur.com/a/R88dE
Picture one if i Delete its own messages and attachments i loose Write topics or messages for members. Picture 2 if Delete its own messages and attachments and have the box ticked it will show members. So if Write topics or messages is blank can members still post?

The members will always be able to post with the options you have set. You don't have to worry about the options above Wink

That options are like a global option, for example, it's useful when you're creating a new category and you're setting the permissions. That options will allow you to start with shorter options and then when you have the basics you can customize as you want. Those options encompass the other options you have below.

So, when you edit something let's say that "break the rules" set above, the options will become white, but you don't have to worry about that. The important things are BELOW Wink.

Greetings.
