Hi All

I know how to create a Poll, however with the GDPR getting closer and the way I have members im wanting to ask our members for their permission for us to hold their details with the choice of yes or no.

is there a setting where i can see who chooses their answer rather than it being displayed as anonymous?

Hello,

No there is not.

Just a reminder though that you don't have to do anything to get in compliance with gdpr, Forumotion will take care of all the changes including in the getting permission to hold data (its being worked now I believe).

Just a heads Up on this GDPR stuff.

Forumotion will take care of everything and we are almost done with making the change as Brandon has said.
You have nothing to worry about we take care of it all. If you want to make a Announcement on your forum then that is up to you but it's not necessary to do so as your members was happy to tick the box when they made the account in the first place.

The only data we hold on the member is :
Email address,
IP address,
Username,
anything added to the members profile like MSN and skype address and that's it.
Password are encrypted by our system's so that is safe as safe can be.

If you want your members to use a poll then you can and then tell them they need to post but They have no choice in the matter really it's like it or leave and close the account down on the site's they use.

Sadly It's the law and we all have to like it or not use sites we have to make an account on.

Thanks guys I know the forum is covered, because we are a walking group, we have sensitive data on forms that they fill in, we have redone these to cover us for new members from the 25th, i was looking at ways for existing members to give permission for us to hold their info etc without them having to fill a new one in, with over 200 existing members it would be difficult to complete in time.

You could move the topics with this information to a section where only staff can see it until you get the permission form your members.
