Solved Credits

Post by Gimpy Cat May 27th 2018, 5:51 am

Hi, Ive just discovered the new package system. I have 950 credits on my forum and I do not want to sign up to a paid package. Does this mean I can no longer use these credits? If so, will my money be refunded?

Also the tutorials say I can assign all my free 20mb space to the gallery, but then it says you cannot do this unless attachments are enabled. I cant find anywhere about enabling attachments. We don't use attachments, only the gallery so what should I do so I can assign all my space to the gallery?

Thank you

Wait a minute.  Do you not have another topic about an issue with the gallery?

Yes I have another post with a query about the gallery but that would be a technical issue. This post is about the use of credits so I posted each one in what seemed to be the appropriate area

Maybe I am not understand the issue with the gallery.  If you have used it for 10 year, what is the issue now?

Solved Re: Credits

Post by Gimpy Cat May 27th 2018, 8:01 am

I have two questions at the moment regarding credits, the first was if I have unusable credits would the value be refunded to me. With regards to the credits, I think its unfair that I purchased a product from Forumotion in good faith, now you have changed the rules and rendered my credits unusable. In that case I think you should refund the value of the now unusable credits as this was caused by Forumotion, not the customer. I know its not a lot of money but if 1000 people lose usable credits then that adds up to a whole lot of money Forumotion has obtained unfairly in a sense but so be it

The second question I have is how I put all 20mb of free storage onto my gallery only, we do not use attachements so I dont need any storage wasted on that aspect. I read the tutorial on how to direct the 20mb to just the gallery but I cannot do it. It says you cannot do this unless attachments are enabled. I cant find anywhere about enabling attachments. So I would like to know how to direct the whole 20mb storage to my gallery?

Could you please post a screenshot of the page that says you have to enable the attachments?

AP > General > Messages & Emails > Attachments

When it is activate, you will see a new section in the Misc. tab for storage management between the attachments and gallery.  That is what it meant by activating attachments.  You really do not need to activate them, if you are not using them.

Thank you, I was able to find and check on the attachment setting thanks to your instructions. They are disabled so I now know that no storage space is being wasted on it. Thank you very much for your assistance Very Happy
