Troll lodged a malicious complaint against my forum over being banned
I'm one of the administrators for Resident Evil Forums and today I banned a member because I found out that he's has a past of trolling as well as various real life actions such as stalking, death threats, physical assault, and doxing, among other things, and as a result he's been spamming my site up a storm (or trying to, I've been heading him off lol) for the last half an hour or so. Now, the spam I can deal with, but I wanted to know how I would go about informing the proper people that this complaint was filed as an attempt to get back at me and not because I or anyone running the site did anything wrong.

Hello,
If the report was made using the report an abuse feature, then you can simply ignore it as this report only goes to the forum admin panel for administrators to see (a copy DOES NOT go to our litigation team).
If they filed it through the litigation tool, then a copy will have gone to our litigation team, however, if your forum does not break our Terms of Service, then you have nothing to worry about, as they will review the forum to check if it's compliance before taking any action. If there are no violations, the report will simply be discarded and no action taken.
Bottom line: If your forum does not violate our terms of service in any way, then you do not need to worry, your forum will be fine.

Re: Troll lodged a malicious complaint against my forum over being banned
Nothing is showing up in either Abuses or Litigations right now, but he did post a scan of some kind of complaint form. I have a sneaking suspicion it's fake because he has a history of using fake legal notices to try and scare people. Basically, he's complaining because I banned him.
AFAIK, my forum is adhering to the ToS. I don't allow pornographic, otherwise adult, graphically gory (outside of video game stuff since we're kind of named after a fairly gory game series), illegal media downloads, or anything like that.

The litigation team will not get involved if there is no violations of the Terms of Service. The founder has the right to ban whoever they like on his/hers forum.

No, I accidentally deleted the post. It was a lunkheaded, amateur mistake, I know.

In any case the notice would be fake as our litigation tool is the only way to file a complaint about a forum to our litigation team.

I'm almost certain the complaint is fake now because it's supposedly with phpBB, which I'm pretty sure is just software and not an entity one can complain to.
Re: Troll lodged a malicious complaint against my forum over being banned
Hello I Think you have nothing to worry about as we have no power over who you ban on your site as the site is your own site.
We only have the power to ban your site if you break our TOS and banning some one is not breaking any rules in any way.
I would not worry about it.
Even if the person was to report your forum you have not done any wrong.
our team here in the support forum have better things to do with our time then follow up on a fake report about a banning on a forum.
My advice is to ban the IP address Email address and the username.
The person will have to make a new account every time and they will soon give up.

Re: Troll lodged a malicious complaint against my forum over being banned
I'm not trying to take up your time, I figured out just now about the so-called complaint was with the software that the forum is made with rather than any actual entity. So, yeah, it's bogus and you guys can lock this now.
Thanks for the assistance.
