Highlighted 'new posts'

Just been asked this by a member:

"Don't know if there is a setting for how long unseen items stay marked as unseen. I will go in and see that I haven't looked at certain things (someone's build for example) and then I will come back in a day or less and they are marked as seen. Maybe this is normal and I've never noticed it before."

I'm pretty sure that once the site is left, all un-viewed highlighted posts revert to non-highlighted but is that a given? or can it be selective by individual members?

If you log off the forum with new topics/posts, they will not stay new to you when you log back in to your account.

That's what I thought but thanks for the confirmation.
