Question About Groups
Hi all,
I hope I'm posting in the right forum, I couldn't find a section that was specifically for questions.
Are the only groups we can make the kind for bulk PMs? Some members of my forum would like to have a group they can post in and I can't figure out how to set that up. Based on the tutorial, such a group doesn't exist on forummotion.
Our forum is the ModernBB version, if that matters at all.
Thank-you for your help!
~Sincerely,
Johnalex Zarco

Are you looking to add members into a specific group where they can post in a forum only readable to that group?

Re: Question About Groups
If I understand, you will create a group and setup a section where you will check the boxes (view, read, write, etc.) for only that group.

Yes. Presently, all we can figure out is how to set up a group for sending bulk PMs which isn't entirely ideal.

OK. Where would I find that setting? Here's all I can find when I go to setup a group:
Thank-you both for your help, I do appreciate it!
Re: Question About Groups
When you set up a group, you can assign which permissions can be authorized on any forum. Whether that's editing, quoting, replying, moderating, etc.
ACP(Admin Control Panel) > General > Forum > Categories and forums > Forum Permissions Control

Thank-you for your help.
I looked at the permissions, it just has a section for where group members can post in the other subforum. Would this mean I have to create a separate private subforum for the group members to post in, or is it possible for them to just post in the group itself? Right now, I don't see a setting that would allow that.
