Delete profile?

Hi,

Delete profile?

What is the difference between a profile, being completely deleted or permanently banned?

- Seen in relation to whether the profile can log in with either the same profile name or a different profile name.

- the same email and the same IP address, respectively?

- What is the security system here in forumotion?

Hello and thank you for your post here today.

 Deleting an account:
If you delete the account the account becomes a guest on any posts made until you delete them one by one.
if the account is deleted then the member can make a new account and will not be banned.

 Bans:
If you just use the ban button on the account it will just ban the member logging in and they will get a you are banned notice.

If you ban the account and then ban the IP address on the ACP it will stop the member trying to make a new account in the same IP address.

If you ban the account with IP and Email address this then means if you delete the account on the forum it will stop your member making a new account with the same IP and Email address. (This is the best way to ban a member.)

Also about deleted accounts, members can exactly unsubscribe from a forum, too.
