Points Store

Hey Guys
Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about points and what to do with them. I think that an automatic points store should be made so Administrators don't have to spend their time doing point exchanges over the admin panel for people instead of enhancing their forum. I believe the points shop should include things such as this:

• Username Change
  
• Buy a Rank (A little field to type in the rank they want, the rank can added to the ACP)
  
• Buy a Signature (For forums like ForuMotion that only allow signatures for staff)
  
• Buy a Home (A HTML page of their own that they can get made/make themselves as like a home. There could be a link in their posts and profile like a little contact button with a home on it. I've seen something called "NeoHomes" on a forum called Neoseeker, and they seem to be a great success)
  
• Buy a Social Group (Create a group that they can manage, it can be anything they want like "Xbox Lovers" or "Horse Riders", etc.)
  
• Buy a Coloured Name (Simply place the user in a group that has the colour they want)
  

I understand that it would be hard to make these things happen automatically, so I've come up with an idea. The points can be automatically subtracted from the user. The admin(s) of the forum will recieve an E-mail telling them that [Username] has bought a [thing] and you need to [do something]. Here is an example:

Dear Clug,
Hrtxf has just bought a coloured name and you need to create a group in the admin panel with the colour #5babe8 as the colour the usernames will be.

I think this would be a great idea and would make points a lot more useful in forums.

It's a really great idea Trust me, I like it a lot. But one thing that keeps me from voting yes is that if this is automated, then there's a limit to what things you can sell and put on your points shop. And if you have to add them in then that's pretty much kinda pointless. BUT I still want to hear what the other members have to say. So I'm not voting yet. XD But it'd be nice if we can have it.

This would be cool, it would add a lot more use to the points system.
I voted yes, but until this actually happens(if it ever does) im gonna make my own kind of points store.

Theres alot of ideas like this if you search points but trust me this thing is a good idea but if it is automated it would be even better!

Making it with HTML would be easy. If ForuMotion did it though, they could make it much better and automated as well.

I love the idea but to make them work how we want them to somebody (typlo) would have to custom make each of our stores individually, so i don't think it is going to happen.

This idea is great! Like the store at Plunder, I NEED this for my forum. I know lots about Java, but nothing about HTML, if someone would make this, they would be the best!

Typlo wouldn't have to do everyone's. He could set it up to be customisable by you and could have certain actions that could be performed when it is purchased.

Hmm well I like this idea but it isn't easy to create a bug free automated shopping system, even by forumotion standards I would say it would be a difficult task!

This will defiantly reduce SOME of the work
in changing the points for users.
I like your ideas for the point shops as well.

Yeah, like have a script for the widget (?) to be added then in the widget, have object 1 name to be filled in and have a drop down list or "other" thing that would happen (like 10 popular things) and if you want to do anything else it could be a link to something.

I mean, let's say, on a Naruto forum, if a Kunai cost 10 points (OR whatever) the points could go down by 10 upon clicking on "by" below the name and a coded action could happen.

This is a great idea, and I'll vote yes, but the whole thing about email, still makes it so that the admin has to do something. I think that there should just be an option in the Admin panel to change the color of a single user's username.
But if there was a way to make your own points store, using HTML to create the "products", and a way to link two sites to each other in conjunction with the points store, that'd be awesome. Say someone has an Adoptable site, such as I, outside of their forum, but it's for their forum, they could use the points on-board instead of the points on the adoptables site.
But anyway, I vote yes!
