How to make ads and forums in portal?

Hello, how do go about adding, forums and classified ads in my forums portal that members can post in. Not a widget, but how it would appear in the forum part if I did it in there. Also, is there anyway to make it so people don't have access to the portal while I am working on it?

you can add a new page to your navigation bar and add the ads forum link so members when clicking on that button, redirect to the ads forum

hmmm... well I wanted to make it so the ads were not in the forum part at all.

Nah, That's alright, I will just have to go with skoulikis, method. Do you know if I can make AD sub forums? So, like make a forum, with a bunch of subforums in it, only they are classified ads?

Yes. You can create a forum then attach ads to that forum. After you create the forum, just click the green X by the forum you just created. Then select ads for the first option.

Perfect, now though, for some reason when a post is made in one, in the image spot it says no new posts? I am pretty sure I just need to change what picture appears when a new post is made. How do I do that?

Ok, and that's fine. I will just have to make it so the icon would make sense if there was or was not a new post. Unfortunate, it doesn't show up on the forum index a new ad was posted in that forum, or in the latest topics area. As long as that is not changable, this is solved and can be locked and archived.
