Random topics on my forum are coming up missing.

Hi there,

It was brought to my attention by one of my users that a topic is no longer available to view. I thought at first that the topic was just simply deleted by the user who created it, but when I logged onto the Admin account and checked the Basket section, the topic wasn't in there. So I did a site search on Google.com with the title of the topic and I get this message, "The topic or post you requested does not exist."

Then I realized that the topic in question was the very same topic that I created. I never deleted the topic and for some reason it's just gone. Doing a bit more digging, I found another topic was just gone as well, coming up with the same message when I did a site search on Google.com.

Who knows how many of these topics are gone now, these are just the two that I know of. Is there a way to get these topics back?

The two topics that I know are just gone are: "New Boko877 game called "gbh"" and "Guilty Hell".

Did you do a restore recently? I mean did you restore your forum to an earlier date? If yes, was it a full restore or just a message restore?

I have never performed a restore on my forum before.

When exactly did you notice this issue?  If you could, please state the date and time.

It was brought to my attention on March 17th, 2019. I'm not sure how long it has been gone before that day though.

Have you checked the security logs in the administration panel?

I just checked them now and there are no logs of them being deleted.

Go to your Profile > Statistics
Then click the Find all topics where YOUR USERNAME has posted in link.

I believe I'm at the correct location, but I am not seeing the, "Find all topics where YOUR USERNAME has posted in link."

Do you have a co admin? If no did you ask your moderators if they delete or move anything?

Thank you, I do not see those topics listed there. No, I own both Admin account and Mkmd13. I haven't asked them all, but I wouldn't see why they would of deleted those topics. If they did, wouldn't it appear in the Basket sub-forum?

if they send them to the basket yes but if the delete them entirely no

No, I checked through the sub-forum that they were both under and the topic names were not changed.

I guess what I can do is just create a new topic and link the archive in it. I'm just worried that more of my topics on my forum will come up missing in the future. Is there any way to prevent this?

If this is the case then you cannot remove it, this is a limit that Forumotions has

Messages in a thread... 990 messages (once the limit reached, the subject is locked and splitted)

I don't think those topics ever reached the 990 mark. I'm 99% sure they didn't.

That is not the issue.  The issue is that the topics have disappeared.

Could the 2 missing topics been merged with other topics?  If yes, it could be that the other topics' titles are now showing.

Not that I know of. I did a site search on the keywords of the topic, but no other topic matches them.

One way to fix this would be to do a restore.

Will posts and topics that happened after the restore point be deleted?
