I am unclear about the meaning of unauthorize . To say yes means to not allow ? To say no means to allow ?

Unauthorize members with less than a week registration to post external links and emails :
Yes No

Unauthorize guests to post external links and emails :
Yes No

Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. :
Yes No

Unauthorize unofficial forms to post messages and private messages on the forum :
Yes No

If you set this one to no, it will mean new members will not be able to post links or emails for a week (7 days) after creating their accounts.

What happens if it is set to yes ?

Brandon wrote:

1. See SLGray's explaination above

2. Prevents guests from posting links to external websites, but they can still post links from your forum.

3. Expands the list of usernames flagged during registration to those that are commonly associated with spambots.

4. This one is a bit confusing, but I think prevent anyone who isnt a mod or admin from posting. I never understood that one myself actually. I always just set that to No.

Hope this clears it up a bit more for you.

Are those for set to no ?
Is this recommended ?

Hello Smile
When you post a topic or a message, you usually use the default posting form.
But sometimes, you need to create special forms, such as the special form you can use on this forum to describe and post a new problem Wink (https://help.forumotion.com/h7-)
This form which has been created by the forum's administrators is an unofficial form, since it is not provided by default with the forums.

"Unofficial forms" are all the forms you may have created and you may use.
If you want those forms to be functional, you need to put the setting to "No"

Have a nice day Wink
