Description of problem

Hey, Forumotion people!

Sooo this morning I was working on roleplays with some friends on my forum, and unfortunately, one of the topics which we've been replying in since like, January got like a memory wipe, leaving only 5 pages as opposed to the original 43. I know. Crazy.

I believe it happened when I went to post a new reply, and it showed an error message that said "This topic has no posts."

One of my friends pointed out to me that every post in a certain topic, before Sun 7 Mar 2021 - 8:49, was completely obliterated.

We have 1103 posts in there currently, and I'm weirded out by the fact that somehow 1103 posts can fit in only 5 pages?? Like when another thread has 1484 posts and only has 44? It's just really really confusing and I'm only a first time Forumotion user... I started this site a year ago and only started inviting other users to it this December.

I have the automatic daily backup enabled, so idk if that does anything.. I just don't want to screw things up even more or lose more posts.

can you confirm that you have the split topic in your forum (check the basket) please

When the topic is split, you should have 2 topics or more with the same topic title.

In fact the exact limit is 1099.
When a topic reaches 1100 posts, the topic splits into one (locked) with 990 oldest posts and link on the last post to a new topic with 110 newest posts

Many limits on that tutorial are outdated

Characters in the description of a category: 255 characters -> Have actually 421 characters in one of my categories and if my merory is good, limit might be 16k.

Characters in Signatures: 255 characters -> Same ! It's much more (1k ?)

Characters in HTML pages: 65,000 characters -> It's 128k for nearly 10 years.

Groups: 32 groups -> Have a great doubt on that.

The good news is that none of these values has been lowered. Some are still the same (posts and subjects) but most of them have incresased.

Thanks Neptune, yes admittedly that topic has not been updated for quite some time. We will work with the pro admins at Head Office to verify and try to update that thread to be as accurate with the current limits as possible.
