Message management
Apologies Sanket. Two further questions.
Is it possible to move messages back from the SaveBox to the Inbox nad Sentbox?
and....
What does Move Selection to Profile do? I've tried this but can't see where the two messages I did this to have gone.
Thanks.

Re: Message management
Savebox is where you save messages To send it later on.
Inbox is for messages received.
Sentbox, is where messages when read are moved from the outbox to the sentbox.

Re: Message management
Sorry. I know that and it wasn't what I asked.
Savebox is PRIMARILY where you can archive inbox AND sentbox messages, surely, and not merely "where you save messages To send it later on".
Because I was 'told' my Inbox was 100% full, I had moved many of my Sentbox and Inbox messages to the Savebox . I know, now, that it somehow has a greater capacity than 100% ...........! I, therefore, want to know if I can move back these messages to the larger capacity Inbox and Sentbox .......... ?? This is because the 100% full message in my Inbox appears to be (from what you have told me from the link you gave me in the other thread), misleading.
Also, you didn't answer my second question, which was "What does Move Selection to Profile do? I've tried this but can't see where the two messages I did this to have gone."
Thanks for your continued help Sanket.

Re: Message management
Nopes, it is not possible to move it from the savebox to the inbox.
Also, where did you see Move selection to Profile?
I have not really seen it, so i don't have much info on it. IF you tell me where it is, i can try out that feature.

Re: Message management
well it depends what version you are useing. i guess that on the invision or phpbb3 versions. all i could say is try it out and move them there. but either way you are still going to have to delete messages at one time ot other.
if you realy must save all messages then i would open another forum just for your self/other admin and store everthing there. or keep them in a note pad on your computer or something.. but thats about all i can think of doing if you realy need to save every message.

Re: Message management
Hi Kirk :-)
I use phpbb2. I've tried clicking on it but I can't see where on earth the messages have moved to. There's nothing different in my profile that I can see, nor in the profile of the person that sent the message.
I want to keep more than 50 because I run competitions and want to keep track of the answer attempts sent to me, by members, via private message.
If the inbox holds 100's of messages, even after it reaches 100%, I can keep them there I suppose.
But my main question was what is that button for, and to where do the messages get 'moved'? Someone must know. Weird! :-)

Re: Message management
Actually i have always used phpbb2 and never seen this there.. lol
I dont recall this being a new feature that was added in the last update either.. so let me look at my board and see if there is an option for this in the admin panel..
other then that. you should just create another forum for only you/admins to have access and keep track of all info and records there for your contest stuff..
in the mean time i will see if i can get that option and where they are sent to.. it's funny i nevr recall seeing that there either? lol
