Re: table coding
To be clear about the nav-links, you should go here :
Display >> Homepage >> Headers & Navigation
..Then, at "Display only images in the navbar" select "No".
Then, go to modify each link by clicking the icon and in the "Picture" field replace the whatever URL is there with this :
This should make all links just text with seemingly no images next to them (Though realistically it has an image there, just they're "blank" images, so it's not noticeable).
Be sure to replace the nav-bar image URLs with that URL. If you just leave it blank there will be errors (namely being an X next to your nav-links because the browser thinks it failed to load an image).

Re: table coding
There is not a memberlist widget. Are you talking about a widget or the navigation menu?

Re: table coding
The best simple thing to do is to hide the links for all users except Admins.
You can do this at...
Display >> Homepage >> Headers & Navigation >> Click this - >> Click "Modify" next to "Rights" >> Set the link you want to hide to "Administrators".
Now only you and your fellow Admins can see the link you chose to hide. Log-out and you'll see it disappear, because you will become a guest after log-out.
