Password Protected/Members Only Forums
So I just created a Harry Potter Role-Play forum and I would like a way to password protect the common rooms. I know this question has been asked before and one or two of them had links and I tried to go to the link:
http://www.malware-site.www/t42-how-to-password-protect-a-forum
but this is what I get:
If I remember correctly there is also a way that I can make those forums/sub-forums hidden from specific groups. (i.e. A Slytherin student would be able to see the Slytherin forum and sub-forums but wouldn't be able to see the other houses) I thought that I had figured it out but all I ended up doing was stopping "students" ability to post special messages in a house that wasn't their own. Is there any help that anyone can give me please and thanks

Hi!
Of course you can set permissions to each group. Go to:
Administration Panel ~> General ~> Forum ~> Categories and forums ~> ~> View and read, Write and reply: check only the groups you want.

So I tried what you said but the only things I can change for specific groups are: Create a sticky message, Create an announce - global announcement, Create an event (calendar), and Moderate.
View the forum (which is the main one I want to uncheck) is grey and checked meaning I can't uncheck it...
