You already had a thread created about the same problem & it was already reported to TGF. In the future don't make multiple topics, its just increasing our work & creating confusion. I don't appreciate this.

Have you tried contacting the admins of those two forums, using their contact form or emailing the forums PuppyCheese?
They can change your user name which in some cases solves the problem,so you can log in again.

That is a very bad solution to a problem that needs to be fixed by forumotion, the staff knows about the problem so the best thing to do is wait patiently. On top of that you could try turning off your anti-spam filter in your security settings under "Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames" and see if your members being blocked can login. But quite frankly changing your members user names is not a fix its a last resort workaround that is not an acceptable alternative.

I agree it is a problem that needs to be fixed by Forumotion. At least so the captcha can be completed. As the problem is nobody can complete it,the page just refreshes to more capture again and again. I am a member of both forums the OP is having problems logging into. So I PM'd one of the admins of Avac Web and told her about the OPs problem.
Yes I have enabled the unauthorize subscription made with common spam usernames on my forum. Though this still won't stop users from registering with too short a username, which may then be blocked by the plug in.

That's why I said try turning it 'off' disabling it and see if they are still blocked. I keep mine off and always have and I've never once had a problem with a spammer. I have heard too many people on this forum complaining about friends not being able to register with there forum because of that filter, so my conclusion is the filter is not accurate when it blocks members that are legitimate friends of there's. Its not just because its too short a name as to why it blocks them when they try to register, it blocks them for other reasons no one is real clear on, and that's the problem. But if that filter is related to this issue being discussed here in this topic I'm not sure about, just a thought and possibility.

He cant turn it off its not Puppycheese's forum there other members forum like LG's and some other members.
Only the admin of the forum can remove it and i cant see LG removing this for just one member.

It's down to TGF to see what is going on with that members account as there is not a lot we can do here with out the head admin's in the office in french office or tech's

As you may or may not know they don't work weekends so your have to hold out until Monday Sorry.

Yeah I know members can't turn it off, but in relation to the OPs query I thought I would point out for the sake of the Admins on this server, if there members are experiencing the same thing as puppysheese they could turn the filter off that is obviously malfunctioning, because no one wants that filter to be operating if its not working correctly, if it blocked a member it could possibly block an Admin, even LG as you mentioned wouldn't want that.

No need to be sorry Ape its out of your control, I do not seek your apologies and certainly do not hold you responsible. Wish the best to your staff. **snicker

No no. The Online Guardian spam filter has nothing to do if the disallow spam username feature is on or off.
All that does it stop users registering with short usernames. As Leeloo said on another thread from what I remember. The OG plug in detects usernames,IPs and email address that are on the blacklist. It then blocks any username on that list.

When Leeloo was here we had to PM her with the username and email and sometimes the IP. Then she could remove it from the blacklist. Though I think only the forum owner can PM Forumotion staff about this. Now Leeloo has left, Sanket said that The Godfather is the one who can remove those usernames from the block list.

Alright so it seems as it looks like I may have to do some information for you on this online guardian ok

---ok seems as though the Online Guardian is something you have on your computer yourself, you need to add it as a trusted website or delete the program. As it is simply thinking our websites hold malicious coding, which could be cookies, or just the fact that it holds codes, or allows external messages. Not positive. So those are you options to the fact and if you can't get this then honestly I see no other way to help you.

---if you are unsure how to add it as a trusted site you must go to communityDOTtrendmicroDOTcom/ which is the Online Guardian support forum. replace the DOT with an actual .

So its not just small user names it disallows or it wouldn't check user name IPs and email addresses. What does it consider small? 5 characters 3,2,1?

Well if you have changed the OPs username and it is still being blocked it could possibly be the IP or email address or both that may be blacklisted.
In which case a Forumotion staff member will need to remove that IP and email address from the blacklist. Try typing in the Ops username, then IP, then email address in search on StopForum Spam website. If all or any of those come up on the list, you will know which is blacklisted(the IP,Email, username or all 3.)

None of this is the concern of the forums themselves. It is PuppyCheese responsibility to change the settings in the Program that he downloaded to his computer. Sometimes these programs will see these sites as malicious websites, and since we know EasyBB and AvacWeb are not malicious in any way all he has to do is add them to the Trusted Sites in the Settings Tabs and Preferences and/or Security. This really isn't hard to understand, and I'll stand by my word. As follows, the staff here can not do anything, I've already changed his user name, and he is still not able to login. So, as I've said it is not the staff here, it is his responsibility to change this, not ours.

I don't think it's anything to do with the program on the OPs computer.
You said you changed the OPs username and he is still blocked. It depends what you changed the username too. As if that username is also on the spam list he will still be blocked.
Check with Stop Forum Spam here-
http://www.stopforumspam.com/

In the search on StopForum Spam, type in the username you want to change the users name to. If nothing comes up on the list that name is not on the spam list. Then you should type in his IP address and then his email address. If nothing comes up under his IP or email address, you will at least know that's not blacklisted.

If on the other hand the IP or email address is listed then likely it is blacklisted. Then you will have to go to the Forumotion staff as they can remove it from the block list.

Considering all the scripts you and LG use on your forums and the fact he doesn't have any problems logging into this one or reported any other forums he can't log in to, it wouldn't surprise me if his program doesn't like a script your forums are running if what you say is correct.

I had not thought about that Runawayhorses. But yes it is strange that the OPs username, puppycheese is not blocked from this site, and this is also a Forumotion forum. That is the Online Guardian has not blocked him from here. Because if it did he would not have been able to post this thread. So it could be that the anti-spam plugin blocks users from some sites, but not others. But I am not sure about this. Unless it's not the Online Guardian plugin that's stopping the OP from logging in,but some other problem.
