Support Forums Issue --> Being logged out and unable to log in.

First topic message reminder :

I have had this issue happen once before, yesterday but I thought nothing of it because it happened for a short period of time. However today it lasted a good 5-10 minutes.

I was browsing the support forums and I clicked onto go edit something in my profile and suddenly for no reason at all it took me to the log in page. I entered my log in information and clicked to continue. I was redirected to the same log in page I was previously at. However I was not given an error message saying I had entered an invalid password or username.

I then deiced to re-enter my username and password again and again, I got the same issue I was redirected to the log in page I was on but I was given no error message. I continued to try this but nothing was happening other than me being redirected to this log in page.

I then decided to request a new password, I entered my email and username and clicked to continue, the same thing happened above, I was refreshed and taken to the same page I was on and I had no error message.

I then tried to request a new password two more times, both resulting in what I described above.

I then out of  a complete loss of what to do I clicked on the banner to take me back to the main board and somehow it logged me in randomly and I had access to my account. I then clicked my profile to go in and do what I intended to do and I found myself in the same situation I described at the start. It was saying I wasn't logged in.

I then entered my log in details again and got no error message, but I was redirected like I described above at the start of this message. I then clicked the banner a few times refreshing and I was suddenly logged into my account again and this time it let me stay logged in.

Overall this was very unusual and I was wondering what might have caused this. If anyone would care to maybe assist me in finding out why this might have happened.

I haven't had this issue since I last posted in this thread. Although the issue itself has proved intermittent.

i have not had this issue in over a month and also since i got a new computer?
So don't think it has anything to do with a new computer the techs may have fixed, or it just worked it self out?..

We can leave the thread here until Friday then if all is fine we will just garbage or archive it
If we need to re-open down the road then it can be re-opened then

Apparently the issue was reported along time ago by I think LeeLoo and the problem seemed to go away for awhile then I and others started having the issue and now we haven't had it in awhile. However back in June it was re-reported by Sanket but then Jophy confirmed that they haven't had an update on the issue in his above post when I asked for this thread to be brought back.

pretty sure the godfather commented here once back on like page 1 or 2, and said it was a cookie issue or something, so not sure we will just let it linger here for a few more days and see whats what. to me it seems like it has stopped again which is a good thing.

I honestly hope this isn't the return of what we had previously when it was doing this basically every hour, sometimes you'd get it multiple times in an hour.

We were both logged out at the exact same time as we were chatting at the time and said to each other.

I was forced out for around 10 minutes today around 10:15PM GMT

I was kicked off again as well however, before I was kicked off comepletely I was signed out for a margin of a few seconds twice before I was not able to get back into my account. I've only ever experienced it once or twice on another Forumotion forum but that was such a long time ago and I can't quite tell if it was this actual error or something else. However it's definitely a major problem on the support forum.

I don't think it actually logs you out for good, it gives you the appearance of being logged out and you can't actually post or do anything like that but quite often I don't even have to log back in. I refresh my browser periodically and then it logs me in automatically again.

That happens to me too, I noticed that when I refresh its as if I was never logged out because the 'View posts since last visit' were the same as when I was logged in. If I was logged out they would be different, or none at all.
