Members Cannot Edit
Forum: http://www.taggersgonemad.com/forum
Members at Taggers Gone Mad cannot edit their own posts. I have not changed any of the permissions and they are all the same as they were.
This problem just started happening this afternoon.
The Quote and Delete options are there, but the Edit Option does not appear.
What could be causing this?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Members Cannot Edit
Maybe the edit button has been deleted.
Check:
ACP --> Pics Management --> Advanced --> Buttons --> Edit Post --> See if a button is their.

Re: Members Cannot Edit
No, that isn't the issue. There would be a link there if the edit button was deleted. But I did check and the edit button is still there.

A link doesn't always/wouldn't appear, it depends on the coding within the specific theme.
Other than that I'd suggest looking in: ACP --> General --> Messages and Emails --> Configuration --> Post edit duration limit for a member : See if you have any time setting set. You did say this is for members only right?

Re: Members Cannot Edit
Yes, it is for editing, but I haven't made any changes on the member settings today that would be causing that. One member just posted that she did see the edit, but then it was gone again. I will go check where you said to check to be double sure on that. Thanks

Re: Members Cannot Edit
If you've made changes to members groups or groups that members in then you might want to check the permissions for each forum.
ACP --> General --> Categories and Forums--> Check the forums the members say they can't edit in click this button: and go into advanced mode and check: "Edit its own messages"
However if members are reporting that they can see the edit button then it is gone after a period of time then I'd assume it would be what I suggested above.

Re: Members Cannot Edit
I did check at Messages and Emails and there is 0 (zero) in all options, but underneath where it says "None" had become "unchecked."
I checked that box beside None and I'm hoping that could be what was causing the members to have issues with editing their own messages. It is strange because they do have the Delete option.
I have also checked most of the forums where members said they were having the edit issue and those permissions are set correctly.
I'm waiting for a member to reply back to let me know if she can see the edit option now. I will post back when I hear.

Yes the box does need to be checked I think, otherwise since no time is set the system will think that you don't want people to edit their posts.
