[Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
I just went to update a .xls attachment on a post in which the file size only increased from 18kb to 20kb.
I went into post with edit, deleted the old attachment from this post : http://twwca-gota.forumotion.com/t21-friend-request-workaround-spreadsheet#28 Then i went to upload the updated file and when i click on submit i get this message "Uploaded File is not Valid". I dont understand why it would be invalid when it accepted it the first time and the only difference this time is 2kb in size increase. I have put the file on a file hosting site if you would like to have a look and see why it wont upload. Link to attachment is http://www.filehostfree.com/?d=520432FA1
Please can you find a solution as at the moment with a coding issue this is the only way for me to supply members with the required links to friend requests in the game were playing.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
Only these types can be uploaded:
Images: .bmp - .png - .jpg - .jpeg - .jpe - .gif - .tif - .tiff
Sounds: .mp3 - .m4a - .wma
Videos: .mp4 - .mov - .m4v - .mpeg - .mpg - .3gp - .3g2 - .wmv
Documents: .txt - .doc - .docm - .docx - .pps - .ppt - .pptm - .pptx - .xls - .xlsb - .xlsm - .xlsx - .pdf
Misc: .zip - .swf
Are you sure that it was a xls file? Are you uploading it from your computer? If you have already uploaded it to a hosting site, you just need to post a link to it in a post.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
I am having this problem as well. The file type is definitely .xlsm
I have previous verisons of the same file already loaded. I made some changes and went to post the new file and got the same error as the OP.

Is it possible to upload the file in another format?

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
Not for me. xlsm is a macro-enabled file format for Excel. The macro is written in VBA and stored in the xlsm file.
Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
And can you please confirm if you are able to upload other formats such as regular Excel documents (No macro's enables), and a basic format such as word, or even notepad?

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
I cannot upload any of the following and get the same error as in the OP:
Each of the files I tried are well under the 1Mb size limit as well.
I also have 17.2Mb free storage space allotted for attachments.
- .doc
- .docx
- .jpg
- .pdf
- .txt
- .xls
- .xlsm
- .xlsx

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
What happens if you try the upload on another browser?
I'll try to reproduce this error.o
Upon some research, this is a global issues affecting several languages.
Further edit: 8.20PM
I am unable to repoduce this on two of my forums; I'll ask around and see if anyone else has it so that I can see it.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
I'm currently using IE 8 as I'm stuck at work.
Using my Droid RAZR with the Chrome browser looking at the classic site, I cannot attach files, even though it allows me to browse for the file. When I click submit, the page refreshes, but no files are attached (no error given either).
I'll have to wait until I get home to use a more modern browser.
EDIT: I'm getting the exact same error at home using Google Chrome.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
This problem is still not going away, have just tried to upload a .xls from microsoft excel that is 18kb in size and i still get "Uploaded File Is Not Valid"
So I tried a 2kb .txt file from notepad and get the same result. Could you have a look at my forum and see if its an admin issue please. http://twwca-gota.forumotion.com

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
I can confirm that it is a global issue, have reproduced, and know that the technicians have a report to analyze.
When they return to the office on Monday, they will do the analysis, and hopefully make the fix pretty fast.
Until then, I unfortunately, do not have a workaround. Sorry.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
Did you used credits to get more storage space? If you did, has the time for the storage space expired?

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
Sure I will respond to this thread when fixed. I was having this problem yesterday and tried everything with no luck.
Did a search on the error and was happy to see it wasn't something I broke.
Hope this gets fixed soon.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
Maybe support should stop worrying about what sort of formatting we put in messages and actually try to resolve the issue being brought up. Not one single piece of helpful advice on this thread from support yet. Best we have got is a member finding it on the french site.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
We can only report the issue. Since there is a thread on the French support forum, there is no need to report it again.

Re: [Only Topic] Attachment wont upload
Hi there,
As yet, there is no new information from the devs, only that they are still studying the bug, and are un-sure of where specifically that it is being caused.
The devs are usually very quiet people and rarely come out of their cubicles, when they know more, they will post more details
The reason we are not getting an exact update is because we don't have a communications manager, as in, the company is having trouble finding a qualified person to speak English and French, and willing to relocate to Nice, France.
In the mean time, we have the Head Developer as our contact point, and he is a very very busy man.

Just nice to hear what is happening from a Support Moderator instead of a member.
