IP-number on old visitors?
I can only see visitors online, admins in other forums seem to see old visitors, how do they do it?

Re: IP-number on old visitors?
They can't see old visitors IP addresses, only people browsing as a guest or member. If someone leaves a post on the site then they can see the post IP address.

Re: IP-number on old visitors?
Which other forums are you referring to? There are only two ways to see the IP addresses of guests:
1. While you are logged in, you can see guests' IP addresses in the administration panel on the who's online list.
or
2. If a guest has posted as a guest, you can press the IP address button in the message.

Re: IP-number on old visitors?
There are at least one admin with a forum based here, who use to publish IP-numbers on visitors, perhaps against your rules.
I got 2 of those on my forum but its so much work to update often.

Please don't double/triple post. Your post need to be separated by 24 hours before bumping, replying or adding more information. Please use the edit button instead!
Do you mean that an administrator posted the IP addresses on his forum?

Re: IP-number on old visitors?
SLG means that you can post a new post after 24hours of your last post. Double/Triple posting in a matter of a few minutes/hours isn't allowed. If you wanted to add more information to your last post, as said use the edit button.Webmister wrote:Yes and if I edit after so many hours, nobody will get alerted mail of new info.

Re: IP-number on old visitors?
Hi,
As said in here, on a FORUMOTION forum, once a visitor (Guest) has left a forum, you can no longer find their IP Address.
If the Guest has posted (As per your forum permissions) their IP address will be logged and accessible by all admins, and allowed people.
If the Guest is just 'viewing' somewhere, you can see their IP Address via the index page of the admin panel.
If a guest is saying he is viewing the admin panel, FRET NOT, he is not inside the admin panel, (s)he is simply seeing a page that says (s)he doesn't have rights to access the page, for example: help.forumotion.com/admin
There is no other way to check an IP Address' on our forums.
As you said, it is not permitted to publicly post an IP address on our forums, please report the forum via the tool: https://www.forumotion.com/en/litigation/
It is not possible to get an email notification of a post being edited.
I hope this clears things up.
