I believe what you want is not a domain name. Check out this section:

Administration Panel > General > Forum > Forum Address
There should be many drop-down menus that list all available extensions you can use.

No, I mean something like this. -> www.forums.forumotion.com

Because let's say I have my own website,
Own Website: www.forumotion.com
Forum: www.forum.forumotion.com

When you go to by a domain name I'm sure you could just place a dot in the middle of the domain name then choose your ending.

You do not own the forum, but the domain name.

Domain names usually end like this .net, .com, etc. So what exactly do you want? Because what I posted is not domain names. They are just different endings, like .forumotion.com, you can use.

You can not have your forum redirect to a domain name. You can only have a domain name redirect to your forum.
