I don't know what she sloved here but for sure this was not my problem/question, other ppl just joining my thread with different questions and problems... Hi i have some questions about new tag system and i want change something.
I really don't like that you getting only notificaltions when someone tag you, why? Because who read all the notifications...?
so i want ask:
- Is possible to change the notification to private message? when someone tag you you get private message. Or
 is possible to change the tag notification to something like friend request notification?






Next problem is that that every member on the forum need go to his profile and select that he want getting notifications when he will be tagged... Its stupid i think here should be option that you don't want getting notifications when someone tag you...

Here should be only option that you don't want getting notifications when you are tagged!!
And here you must edit your profile for get the notifications! 0 logic and sense, what i have to do? message all members and every new member and tell them to change the profile for get notifications how many members will change it 20%...? its really uncomfortable...

From what I have seen, it looks like she made a simple mistake in assuming that the problem was solved since other members had posted in the topic. So you want private messages when someone tags an username?  The only thing about this is your inbox will fill up quick.

I don't think so, before i used Advanced tagging system by dom from http://www.avacweb.com where you getting pm when someone tag you and no one in my forum had problem with it, now i can't use it because the script is gone from his hosting.

If you read Buttercup post, you can see she answered other questions but don't yours...
She probably didn't see your post as others members added some additional problems. But, I also think your post is not a problem but just a personal suggestion. There is a section dedicated to suggestion: https://help.forumotion.com/f29-suggestions and I think it is the best place to post...

Personally, I think your proposal is "stupid" (I am taking the liberty to use this term as you also used it...). First of all, receiving a PM for each @ is just impossible especially when you have a forum with a lot of members. Your inbox will be full fastly...
Secondly, tagging is an option. All Forumotion options are turn to off like that members are free to add or not the option. It is not a big deal to go to the profile and clik on a button...!!
Anyway, I think it is a very good update, and you should enjoy it or make your suggestion into the right section!

Indeed, I just answered to other issues and I am sorry for that. I understand your message. However, in practice it appears that it is not easy to setup. I cannot immagine receiving a PM for each tag... My inbox will be full in few hours.... But feel free to open a topic into the suggestions section...


About notification, tags are not an option. So by default it i turn to off... Once more, you can write a topic into the suggestion section

with the one you had from LG forum that was a plug in lots of us had it and it was a good system but you can pick in your profile if you want to receive a Email when your tagged but not a pm the system will get over loaded if we had to send a pm out every time some one gets tagged that's why FM did not add this i think  you have all the tools needed on the toolbar at the top of your forum there is really no need to be pm'ed with that sort of thing.

Yes. If you can receive a PM message by email, or even a friendship request, is absolutely normal receive a notification when someone is talking about you or with you on a topic.

@TheShaka , That is all up to you. You must decide what notifications you want to receive, and which ones you don't.

Indeed, I have.

Spam is unwanted material.  If you have it set to receive notifications then it is not spam.

I understand you are having an issue, but that does not make notifications spam.  When your issue is fixed, the notifications will work correctly.
