CName Incorrect
Evening everyone,
I have been trying to add my own personal domain hosted by GoDaddy to my forumotion forum and I continue to get the same error. It says that my CName is not redirecting back to my forumotion forum url properly. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. If anyone could provide some help for me that would be greatly appreciated.

Hey James
I just check your forum and there is no CNAME setup on it!
Make sure you add your external domain name
You can aslo read the following tutorial: https://help.forumotion.com/t7021-cname-redirect-an-extern-domain-name-that-you-own-to-your-board

Hello @Buttercup,
I have used that tutorial but for some reason I cannot seem to set it up correctly. I am not sure what it is that I am doing wrong however.

Hi Jadster,
Log Into your GoDaddy account and follow the following Instructions:
Go to the "Domain" option, select the domain you wish to configure, then click "Launch".
Next, select the "DNS Zone File" tab.
Now click the far left "Edit" button as arrowed.
Scroll down until you see the "CNAME (Alias)", and click the pencil Icon as shown.
Enter your "forumotion" address WITHOUT the 'www'. To save the settings, click the "Save Zone File" and you're done.
Given you've configured this correctly, along with the Instructions as per Buttercup's post above, the DNS servers may take up to 24 hours to propagate. That said, nowadays It's a rather quick process, hence keep checking every hour or so.
If you need help with the ARecord & 301 forwarding, just let me know.
