HTML Page Re-directs to /forum
Technical Details
Forum version : phpBB2Position : Founder
Concerned browser(s) : Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, Other
Who the problem concerns : Yourself (confirmed), probably everyone
When the problem appeared : After I made an HTML Page my homepage this morning
Forum link : http://broadcastingduo.forumotion.com/
Description of problem
Hello everyone,Today I published an html page on my forum, I ticked the box that said make 'this html page my homepage' so that anyone who would go to my forum's url would be brought to that HTML page, or so I thought. After publishing the html page and trying to get to it on a couple browsers both on the pc and on my tablet I have been brought to my forum. Now I type in http://broadcastingduo.forumotion.com which should bring me to the html page, instead it automatically re-directs me to http://broadcastingduo.forumotion.com/forum which is where my forum is now located. I created the html page first on a separate test forum and it worked fine without any redirect. Both forums are phpbb2 is there any reason why I am getting this re-direct to /forum when I want to go to broadcastingduo.forumotion.com?
I have tried clearing my cache and browser history and also tried the forum cookies. Still get the re-direct
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help offered/given in advance .
Regards,
-Brandon

Re: HTML Page Re-directs to /forum
Thanks for the quick reply @Ikerepc,
As I said, I ticked the little 'tic' box on the option that said 'make html page homepage'. On the test forum (if you click the words test forum) you will see the homepage was the .forumotion.com url and the forum .forumotion.com/forum. I would like it to work the same way on my actual forum, I created it the same way as i did on the test forum. Any ideas?
Thanks again for the reply,
-Brandon

Re: HTML Page Re-directs to /forum
You need to create html page, tag it as default page and on it provide link to forumotion.com
Re: HTML Page Re-directs to /forum
Did you also set it in the other place in the administration panel that deals with homepage?

Re: HTML Page Re-directs to /forum
Hello,
@Ikerepc
When i created the html page I ticked the box that said 'make this html page your homepage' which will automatically add the .forumotion.com and will make the forum .forumotion.com/forum.... the problem I am having is not that the html page is not located at 'broadcastingduo.forumotion.com' because it is, the problem I am having is that when I type broadcastingduo.forumotion.com in address bar it or my browser automatically re directs me to broadcastingduo.forumotion.com/forum . It should not do that.
@SLGRAY
What other place?

Thanks for the reply,
I just checked there @_Twisted_Mods_ and it is already set to redirect to html page. Could there be anything else possibly causing this issue?
Thanks for all the help so far anyone,

Re: HTML Page Re-directs to /forum
Oh my god.... well this is embarrassing
So I went into edit html page to add your code twisted and I just happened to glance up at the settings and realized that when I was in rush trying to get the html page up, in my hasty rush, I must have not have ticked make html page my home page afterall. I know I clicked to tick it but.... guess it didnt. I can not believe I missed that! . I should have checked the html page settings before making this topic when I first noticed it. It never pays to do something in rush. I have NOW checked the box and my html page is now the home page without the redirect. Thanks so much for the help everyone, I will be swearing at myself for a LONG time over this silly mistake, I should have known better.
