Solved How to set-up email notifications

Post by Vince_Tee Wed 1 Apr 2015 - 13:26

Hi everybody,

Our forum is growing bit by bit, thanks again for the hlp youi already provided Smile.

I know it is possible for a user to receive e-mail notifications each time a message is posted in a topic he follows.

I would like to set it up as a basic rule for every user. Do you know how to do that?

If there's anything, please just let me know Smile.

Cheers!

Solved Re: How to set-up email notifications

Hello,
Well this can be done in the user profile ( the edit user profile, not the viewing profile), look either Prefrences or Notfitications tick everything you want the user to receive e-mails and save.

Keep in mind, however, that some users may get annoyed in receiving e-mails every 30 mins, therefore I would strongly recommand a this be an option more then a requirement for users. The choice is yours in the end, just keep that in mind is all I personally advice.

Regards,
-Brandon

Solved Re: How to set-up email notifications

I'm not sure to understand, would I have to do it for each user? or it there a way to set it up for every user at once?

Also. I thought that the notifications would be sent only for the first message posted in a topic they follow. That there would be no other notifications until they visit the thread again, even if there are 20 new messages in the meantime. And that they could untick this option anytime they want.

Am I wrong?

Hello

Your members should accept to receive notifications via email or via the toolbar. For that, they should enter the front forum>>Profile>>Notification

So it's not possible to set it up as active for every user? At least juist when they create the account. They can untick afterwards, that's ok for me ^^.

Hello

Indeed it is not possible. By default this option is turned to off to avoid aggressive ads, that could afraid our users. You can create a small tutorial and include the link into your welcome private message Wink
