Topic marked as Read for all users when posting on second page
Hello,
The problem I currently have is that when anyone is posting on a very long topic that has more than one page, the topic does not become marked as unread for anyone. So essentially my users are not aware when there is new content in these multi-page topics. Please help me solve this issue. I have confirmed this problem by logging on with a "test" account as well as my admin account.
Thank you

Re: Topic marked as Read for all users when posting on second page
Hello Brandon, thanks for your help. The problem doesn't seem to be as generalized as I first thought
After playing around with it for a while i have this as information:
-This problem is not for all users as I first thought, but only for my Admin account
-If anyone else posts, the forum behaves normally, but if I post on the second page of a topic, no-one knows that there has been an update in the topic based on the icons not lighting up in both the category and home-page.
-The issue is both with the icons in the categories not lighting up as well as those in the homepage
-They do receive notification e-mails if they are subscribed to the thread
-The "Latest Topic" widget behaves normally and puts the topic I have posted in at the top as it should.
-If I post with my admin account, then log out and log back in with a test account, I cannot see that the topic has been updated unless I consult the latest topic widget.
-I am a newly registered user so am not allowed to post links
Edit: Just figured out that everything works find if I do a "quick-reply" but not if I do a "Post-Reply". This may or may not be the case for all users, I have no way of knowing.

Oh ok, so you found a solution, I don't know why it would do it for the 'Reply' button.
So is it solved now or no?

It still does not work if I do a "long reply", only if I use the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the page. I can live with that if need be, but a solution would be even better

Hmm... well is the topic being watched? You will see a 'Stop watching this page' at the bottom of the topic if it is.

Yes it is being watched. How would that affect it though?
Re: Topic marked as Read for all users when posting on second page
Well, in order for the icons to light up with new posts, one would have to be watching the topic.
