How can I delete the list (or part of it) of the ip addresses logged from a certain member?

You can not delete IP addresses.  Only staff members who have the right to see the IP button can see the IP addresses.

I'm an administrator but a member has requested me to delete some or all of his logged ip addresses.
Is there a workaround such as a log entries limit that would force a reset/blank out of previous ip addresses?

Logging into a forum does not show the IP address, unless an administrator is looking at the online list in the administration panel.

Another way is by an administrator looking at the ip address logged from a member's post/s.

But I need to know how to delete or remove parts of the logged ip address list for a certain member.

I do not believe it is possible to do. It is there and logged for security reasons. I do not believe forumotion has chosen to provide admins with a way remove IP Addresses in the system.

All you can do is tell your moderators and admins not to look at the users ip address and if do so they could face some kind repcrucations.

Sorry for the inconcivence. Sad

-Brandon

Edit: The only way truly do this is to delete ALL of the users post from the forum. With it all the ip addresses logged when they posted will be deleted from the system along with the posts.

Ouch. Wait...moderators can view ip addresses?

And aside from the privacy concern, a member of my forum
is also concerned about the fact he has used proxies while
logging in and doesn't want the possibility of being banned
when I ip ban a spammer or if a certain ip address he's using
becomes a blacklisted ip among forumotion forums.

But yes privacy is also a concern as some have said they don't mind me
seeing their ip addresses (I'm the founder, main admin)
but do NOT want other admins seeing the same information.

Will there be a future addition to forumotion that either enables ip address deletion/select deletion or permissions for only one admin being able to see ip addresses?

Is there no code I can use in the mean time that does this?

SLGray, can I make it so only one administrator (me) can see ip addresses?
And not my other admins?

Only if you are the only one in the original administrator group.

Can I make a new administrator group with less permissions but almost the same as the real administrator group?

No, the default administrators group is the only one that can be used to give someone access to the acp, forumotion has chosen for all administrators to have equal power with the exception of the Founder (Original admin account) who has the most power.
