Changing forum email address
Hello
I created a new email account for our forum and would like to change it so all the Welcome Letters emails to Admin etc are being corresponding using the new email address.
I searched member name Admin, and changed it in the profile.
I also ACP General Emails and Contact Form and changed it Admin Email Address, however it appears there is something wrong. The notifications of new users are still going to the old email. If I choose one of those emails, the reply as the new email address.
I have tested outgoing and income emails with the new email, and it's fine.
What have I missed?
Thank you.

Re: Changing forum email address
Hello,
Have you double checked to make sure that it really did change it? I only ask because sometimes these things act wonky and say it changed it but didn't.
If it did indeed change, have you tried reschrozining the account or un ticking your notification settings and re ticking them again?
You should also try un ticking the 'Notify an admin of... (Insert here) settings in the acp and then re tick them. Sometimes this will reset things serverside .

If yes then also go off to the profile of that member / your account and make sure it is changed in there also
Remember if you change the Founders account on your forum it will not change your Email address in the Forums utilities That will have to be done by the founder of the forum as well or your Accounts will not match Up if anything was to go Wrong
Yes that is right sometimes our servers can be running a little on the slow side when making a change to some data on your profiles so to run the following steps that @brandon_g said can helpbrandon_g wrote:Hello,

Steps you need to take is as follows:
1, Go to your Profile and then change the Email address there.
2, Go to your ACP and find the Admin / Founders account and make sure the address has changed there then press SAVE if it is there to make sure the data is saved.
3, Go to ACP and resynchronize your forum. then refresh your Page Log out and then log back in and see if the change has took place.
4, If you want your Founders account to be the same as the the Forums utilities you need to log in to your Tools and change it there too
If after all that you still have a problem then you will need to send me BY PM the following info
- Code:
[b]1, Your admin User name[/b]
[b]2, Email address you used to make your forum with.[/b]
[b]3, The new Email address you wish to use in the old ones place.[/b]
[b]4, Your forum URL[/b]
[b]5, A screen shot of the following:
Main page of the Founders account[/b]
I will then pass this on to the Team to see if they can do the Change for you or see why you can not make the change your self.

Re: Changing forum email address
Thanks for all the info everyone. I resynchronized and it seems fine now.
Also, I tried to log into utilities and I couldn't. What exactly is "creation email". It wouldn't accept my forum address. I've never logged into utilities. I didn't know there was such a thing.
What password do they want? The Admin password?

Re: Changing forum email address
The creation email is the one you used to created the forum. The password is the same as the creation email.

Re: Changing forum email address
That is what I've been doing, and it won't accept it. I have tried the forum website address with the Admin password, and the old forum email address with the email password and the new email address and new password.
None of them will let me log on. Is it because the email address is not the original email address created when the forum was created?
I took over this forum from an Administrator who didn't sign on for more than 6 months. We did not have any passwords and had to create a new email account.

Re: Changing forum email address
Yes that is likely the cause then. If its not the original or right password that was used when the Founder created the forum, it will not work. You should pm a staff member to see about getting it sorted.
