Solved It seems RSS feature does not work

Post by isa111 Wed Nov 11, 2015 6:18 pm

Hello

Obviously the RSS URL of my forum is <my forum's address>/rss. There is a RSS icon on the top bar in front of the title Share.
I tried it but it seems not working. There are some posts on my forum but no update in my feed reader.
Is there something wrong? Should I set or change some setting?

Thanks in advance

If the topics are in a section that guests can not see, they will not appear in the feed.

Mine is totally a private forum; isn't there any way for the members to receive RSS feeds?

Hello,

Unfornatelly I don't believe so Sad. Atleast not via the default options. I am not sure if this can be changed with code or not.

It would be so good if it could.
I hope somebody could kindly help to find or write a code for this. I believe there are other Admins who are in need of such a feature.

Thanks

Sorry if your Forum is 100% hidden to guests then you can not get your RSS feeds to work as the Tools need to look in your forum as a guest and as your forum is hid to all but members this tool will not find any data.

NOTE: This is also the same for Google and all the Bot's your forum will not show right in them as it needs to read parts of your forum.

You mean if I want RSS to be available for my forum, say, I have 6 forums inside my main board, I have to change all of them so that they are visible to the guests, am I right?
If so, if I only made some of them visible to the gusts, say, 2 or 3 forums, would RSS be available for those visible forums, or is it a case of all or none?

If you make some sections viewable to guests, then the rss feeds will only work for the sections that are viewable to guests and thats all! Very Happy

RSS is similar to search engines.  They can only search/index what is viewable by guests.
