usergroup pictures

Okay, so, this one forum i know, has pictures for the usergroups you can join and once someone asked to join, pictures popup on your profile so show that you are part of that group. I tried doing that but everytime i try to put a picture up for one particular person that is a member of that group, it shows it for every member on there. This is what it looks like on that forum i was talking about earlier.


So, my questions here is, how do they do it. I have gone to profile on the admin panel and messed with a bunch of different things like the name, where it would show up at, who can change it, who it will be there for and etc. So, i was wondering if i cam doing something wrong and if someone could please tell me how to do this. Right now i put the pictures in the comments part of their profile cause i do not know where else to put it. Please help me!

Create a customized profile field where only administrators or moderators can modify it.  Then you will have to manually enter the image for that group. 

Those images you posted look like ranks, not groups.

It actually is a group picture, i promise, the ranks for these forum are under the users profile pic and these are the groups pictures. And these are the blanks i would have to fill out if i do this on the profile field sections.

Make a list of images and make it only modifiable by administrators (don't mark).

Okay so this is what i did, i put it as image list, put the group name in the name spot, put no as necessarily filled, checked both boxes for profile and messages, and where it says: Display this field for users that are at least: i put members. and then no choice for the line separation and then put my picture in the url thingy at the bottom and then i tested it by going to a random user's profile on the forum and it turns out that the group name is show for every member on the forum. I don't get it. The other forum has no name, just a picture in the middle.
