Forum Founder Passed Away

Forumotion help team.

Hello my name is Norton I'm a new member here at forumotion.
The original founder of our foum passed away last year September, 2015.
I have been an administrator of his forum for several years, and continued to administer the forum in his absence. The problem that is concerning members and I, is the founder changed the forum to his own (.net) domain name last year, from forumotion.net. We as forum members received a message when recently when logging ON "The domain name will expire on Jan 22, 2015 if not renewed. I don't have any authorization to change or renew his (.net) domain name.
My question to the Forumotion team is:
Can I take over ownership of our thriving forum and have it remain under the original xxxxx. forumotion.net domain name.

Yes you can take over the forum but we need proof that the Founder has passed.

I understand this is hard to get this info but if you was told by say a family member then we can take that email or PM as proof.

as for the Domain name well there is not a lot can be done about that until we give you full Admin/ Founders right's

Regarding the passing of Wickens, forum founder. I'm requesting to take over ownership of our forum "Norfolk Ontario Friends Forum" lenwickens.net and transferring the domain name back over to forumotion.net. Domain name lenwickens.net is about to expire today if it's not renewed. I'm not in a position to renew the domain as I'm not the founder. I would appreciate any help from the Forumotion Administration Team.
Please find attached the information of Admin Team and forum members that you requested to move forward with this concern

Hello,

I have question, you say the founder passed away April 4th, 2015, however, my tools says the founder account connected last on: 11-30-2015 at 23:51:22 . Has anyone been using or connecting with the founder account since the founders passing?

If I get that question answered, I will be ready to consider putting in the request for transfer. Very Happy

Sorry! But I did ask permission to PM the information rather than posting on the forum, I never did receive as response.

In answer to brandon_g question. "The founder account connected last on: 11-30-2015 at 23:51:22" Leonards wife visited the forum occasionally after his passing. I can PM you the proof should you require it.
Appreciate any help that you can provide, Norfolk Friends don't want the forum to cease.

If the wife of the late founder is logging in on the founders account.

She can just PM you the founders account data like password and Email address
You can then make the account change your self by logging in and making the change from your own account.

If not she can PM me or brandon_g with the founders account info
Founders Username:

Screen shot of ACP and a short Pm saying the reason for making the change and who is to take over the account.

Remember all this data should be sent by PM only

Thanks for the help Ape/Brandon. I will call his wife tomorrow she and his son where both on the forum after his passing. I believe she was last on the forum Nov. 2015
As she is doesn't visit the forum frequently a PM could take months, I think I'll call her tomorrow and obtain his password and you can advise me on the next step.

I have sent the request, however, it will require a pro staff to make the actual transfer serverside, since it is the weekend and the main office is closed, you probably have to wait until Monday at the earliest for the account to be transferred. I just wanted to let you know that the transfer of the founder account to you has been completed. The foundation e-mail has been changed to the one you wanted and a new password has dispatched to you Very Happy

If you don't see the e-mail try checking your spam folders, etc.

Please confirm for us that you have recieved the password reset e-mail and that you now have access to the Founder account.

Oh! My I did receive the temp reset password, and reset it this morning. No problem.
I just tried to access AP>User Groups>security to go to the Founders Tools. I tried every combination I could think of, that is creation e-mail addresses, Forum Name passwords, my e-mail address that I forwarded to you and newly created password for user "wickens" Is there a sequence that I must perform before attempting to enter "Founders Tools"
Earlier this evening I just marked the topic as solved. Sorry to badger you again.

Hello are you saying that you can now get in the forum but you can not log in your founders tool on the Forum Utilities ?

If this is right Please send me your Email address and forum url and i will make the change for you

@Norton ,

I have re sync the forum utilities info with your current founder e-mail and password, you should now be able to access the forum utilites without any issues.

Please let us know if you can get in now. Wink

The member has confirmed via pm that the re syncing of the forum founder login details with the utilities info has indeed resolved the issue of him not being able to login to the utilities.

With that said the member has marked this solved, so I will go ahead and archive it.
