Bogus registration requests
The last two days I've gotten 4 bogus registration requests. Anything I can do about that other than ignore then? Maybe a way to find IP address to see where they are coming from?
Re: Bogus registration requests
What do you mean by bogus?

Re: Bogus registration requests
They look completely fake. To me at least. It's a small community that we cater to and we don't advertise. To not know who it is that's requesting is odd.
Re: Bogus registration requests
One comes from @edworkei.top and the other 3 comes from @free-mail.top

Also if you get the email address, you can send an email to them to see what can of reply you get.

Re: Bogus registration requests
Just got another since my last post.
I haven't done a Google search, but I did send an email to the first one I listed above and got no response or kickback for invalid email address.

Re: Bogus registration requests
It is spam.
.top is owned by some Chinese company that spams for free registrations in order to get their company ranked higher.

Re: Bogus registration requests
Is there anyway I can block any registration from a .top email address?
Re: Bogus registration requests
Hello,
Yes of course there is a way to ban email addresses or e-mail address endings. You can do so by going to ACP (Admin panel)-->Users and groups--> Ban Control--> Ban e-mail addresses-->Ban one or several e-mail addresses. Put in the email address or email address ending into the text slot and hit save. The email address/address ending will now be banned and no one will be able to register or even login with such an email address.
Note: I believe in order to ban the ending, you need to put an artisk (*) in front of the ending of the email address. For example, I believe to ban the ending .top, you would need to add it in as *@.top . With the artisk there, it will pretty much not allow any email address ending with @.top as you want.

Re: Bogus registration requests
You can do a domain Email ban
ACP >> Users & Groups Tab >> Users >> Ban Control >> Ban an Email Address tab >>
Now to ban an Email domain you need to do it like this
*@edworkei.top
*@free-mail.top
Putting a * before the @ will ban the Email addresses ending after the @
