Forum Domain Registered to Wrong Forum
Technical Details
Forum version : #Unspecified
Position : Founder
Concerned browser(s) : Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome
Who the problem concerns : All members
Forum link : http://otthunderdome.com
Description of problem
My forum recently switched ownership of the domain "otthunderdome.com" from its original forum (otrecliner.forumotion.com) to its current domain (which is now accessible through otxtest.forumotion.com) last year.I purchased 1600 credits to renew the domain, but I am unable to do so through my admin panel - there is no option to renew the domain, because Forumotion still has the domain registered to my old forum, apparently?
See the screenshots below.
Keep in mind that our current forum that has the 'otthunderdome.com' domain is not otrecliner.forumotion.com.
Re: Forum Domain Registered to Wrong Forum
let me see if i get you right.
you had 2 forums one with
forum 1 otrecliner.forumotion.com
and forum 2 with otxtest.forumotion.com
you then deleted forum 1 and you now want to use the otrecliner.forumotion.com address as your Default FM domain name ?
and http://otthunderdome.com as your Main Domain name (you paid for )

Forum 1 had the original domain "otthunderdome.com" registered to it. After it expired, Buttercup was able to transfer the ownership of the domain to Forum 2 (we didn't have access to Forum 1 at the time), so Forum 2 had the address "otthunderdome.com".
Now that the domain has expired, Forumotion's software still thinks the domain is registered to Forum 1 instead of Forum 2, so I can't use the credits I just bought to renew our domain "otthunderdome.com" on Forum 2.
My community appreciates the assistance. I believe this will be the third time we have renewed this domain, and we would like to continue using it.
Re: Forum Domain Registered to Wrong Forum
Ok i will have to send this on to @The Godfather as Buttercup is no longer with forumotion.com
I am not sure why the data was not sent over for your other forum to take over the Domain address as the address is linked to a forum address.
maybe it was just redirected from one to the other i will mark it as Pro admin for you,
