My categories aren't displaying as categories?
First topic message reminder :
Hi everyone, I am new here and building a forum. I have used the software before but since I last used phpBB there have been changes and improvements.
So I have five categories only and use the admin panel to create the categories and forums. I see it is set up with forums under the categories but the display just shows the forums?
Also do the categories and forums always go across left to right going down or can they be displayed underneath each other in that way? Thanks.

Re: My categories aren't displaying as categories?
One issue is that the category TALKMUSIC is connect to a forum. You need to remove it from the forum.

Also I think I can see now that the second board does not appear because it is set up as a sub-forum.
I need to know how to make the boards, example in NEWSDESK where there are two boards, show under the category.

Yes, I can move the categories up and down, thank you, now my issue is getting these sub-boards as boards in the categories, I only have two to do, Members Birthdays and World News, then I am set.
Re: My categories aren't displaying as categories?
You have to add two forums if you want to boards.

As you can see from the last screenshot, I have made two forums but the second of each is showing as a sub-board.
If I click on, for example, MEMBERS ZONE, it takes me to MEMBERS BIRTHDAYS as a sub-board.
What I need is for NEW MEMBERS and MEMBERS BIRTHDAYS to show underneath each other in MEMBERS ZONE, similarly UK NEWS and WORLD NEWS underneath NEWSDESK.
Re: My categories aren't displaying as categories?
But actually I am happy with it as it is now. The homepage will just show the categories and one forum. When you enter any category you will see the other forum or forums. It keeps the homepage neat and tidy, uncluttered. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this, sorry I may have been hard work.
Re: My categories aren't displaying as categories?
The reason why is that you press the green X by the forum not the category. To add more than one forum to a category you have to press the green X by the category.
