Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
You might want to check your computer(s) for malware, ive just tried your site with
Chrome & Firefox in private windows and all was ok.

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
It's weird, because I found it hard to believe multiple users having the same exact malware...
I friend of mine gave me this information:
This script is being loaded (http://cdn.viglink.com/api/vglnk.js) before the google analytics, in the page scripts' section, before the iFrame in the end of the html, before the end of the body
Sadly, although I'm somewhat proficient with programming languages, I have no idea where to look on the forum configuration/pages

Are you using widget codes by third-parties? It could be a link in one of your customized widgets.

So the issue is only occurring when you are in private browsering? Also do you have ads on your forum?

Yes, only in private browsing, only in chrome (from what I see).SLGray wrote:So the issue is only occurring when you are in private browsering? Also do you have ads on your forum?
Only ad I got is two small hyperlinks on the portal page. I edited the html myself. Other than that and few minor changes, the forum is pretty much stock...

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
I don't think that this is the problem. This only happens with Forumotion forum.
A user has reported to me that even in my forum has happened. I've also had this problem navigating in Forumotion forum. I did a test: I have seen that happen more frequently when you are surfing anonymously.
My forum: http://wikiinfo.forumattivo.it
Browser: Google Chrome.
Forum version: phpbb3

I tried the steps from that site, but according to FreeFixer my computer is clean.
So... back to square one... :\

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
Apparently the behavior is a bit more random than I thought. Some users are reporting this behavior using the "normal" browser (not private)...
Also it's happening in Firefox for some users too.

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
I inform the staff of Forumotion that I have denounced the platform. The platform, despite the reports, it did nothing for the problem. I can tell you that there are forums used in schools, companies and more. Forumotion force viewing of pornographic content to earn more... shame!
Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
Hello,
You need to realize forumotion not decide what ads go up and which ones dont, they are display by our ad manager which is Google. When things like porn and stuff come up in the ads, Forumotion calls Google and asks them to take it down. Most of the time they do. Forumotion itself does not decide what ads appear on their forum, that is purelly on Google. When we recieve reports of these things, we let the main office know so they can contact Google.
Please have a little patience as this issue has only just come back, so forumotion needs time to react and then once Google is called, for Google to react. Things do not nessecarily happen over night, please do have patience.

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
This makes no sense. I had the banner of Google Adsense and I've never had this kind of problems. Also, if the problem is the publicity, you have to remove all advertising until the problem is risove. That you have not done it because you prefer only earn. In this way, however, you have lost potential clients. Good day.
Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
You need to understand that forumotion is a free service, the ads are the only other thing (other then credits that you can pay choose to buy) that keeps the service running. Do you know the costs to run not one huge server but multiple huge servers that each host thousands and thousands of forums. It costs ALOT of money and if ads are the only thing that is providing the money to pay for these and the enormous database that has the data for the thousands/millions of forums that forumotion hosts. You turn off ads and now you cant pay these bills at all. It is not like forumotion has millions of dollars and being greedy or anything, it is just the service requires money to run, alot of money and the ads are virtually one of the only things keeping it going. You cant just 'turn them off' because Google has an issue to sort out.
Every google adsense can be different from every person who uses it to place ads on their sites. Just because you have not had any issues does not mean there can not be any issues. We do not know why Google decides to place these ads on our adsense and display them to our forums. All we know is we do not support nor allow these kinds of ads and content on our forums. It goes against our TOS and Google WILL be called and will CONTINUE to be called UNTIL they take down the ads.
You need to understand that Forumotion is doing what it can to resolve this issue and is working on it as quickly as possible. Unfornatelly the solution is not just as simple as hitting a couple keys on the keyboard or turning off the ads and cutting off your primary and one of the only sources of money that are keeping your bills paid.
Forumotion is doing all it can and is working as fast as it can to get this resolved. Now you are of course free to move to another service if that is truly what you wish to do. Just understand this is a temporary problem and also a problem that Forumotion takes very seriously and is working as hard and fast as it can to get it resolved as quickly.
We ask that everyone just please be a little bit patient, because although the solution may seem simple enough to fix, but there is alot more to it then you might think and Forumotion is doing all it can right now to try and get it resolved as soon as possible.

A member told me when they click on my forum they are redirected to porn
I recently changed my url from myseniorpals.forumotion.com to www.myseniorpals.com One of my new members told me that when he clicks on my site he gets redirected to a porn site. He said if he clicks the back button then he gets my site. What can I do about this?

Which Browser(s)are Involved:Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox
Where on the forum is the Redirection Occurring:Immediately, before it can load on every page.
Which Device(s) are You Using:Occurring on PCs, Macs, Laptops, iPhones, Androids and Windows Phones.
I haven't personally come across this issue, but I do use an adblocker 99% of the time, so that could be why. This is a problem that is now increasing in frequency. It's not the ads on the site that are the problem, rather users are being taken away from the forum to another site before they can reach the forum.

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
My member said he was using Google Chrome. I use that too and have not had the same problem. I told him to delete his history and cookies & then run a scan with his antivirus & malware software. He said it went away, so I guess that did it I dunno. Thank you for the help. Consider mine solved.

Description of problem
Since the forum I created is for academic use, there is a some security problems appear which I personally think is not appropriate for any student or anyone to see it.The main concern is after I access my forum, the webpage has then automatically change to another website, sometime it may link to pornography webpage and other inappropriate website. The most problematic concern is this transformation only takes a few seconds without the users (include myself) click anything.
Hence I was wondering is there any solution which you can suggest for solving this problem?

Are we any closer to a fix?
We're only going to start losing members the longer this continues.

Re: [Only Topic] Redirecting to adult site
The techicians are informed about the issue and working as fast as they can to fix it.
From what we (the staff) have been told so far, it is apparently some kind of javascript re direction. A temporary solution can be made on your end by disabling javascript in your browser until the techs have this fixed (it is being activelly worked on).
