[ONLY TOPIC] detected suspicious activity
First topic message reminder :
[ONLY TOPIC] Detected suspicious activity |
Dear members We have a small amount of reports of detected suspicious activity Problems. We are working on this problem but if you find your members can not log in and they are getting the detected suspicious activity warning then Please post here and then after posting here Please PM one of the following staff members @APE @Luffy @Brandon_g @Nemo @SLGray PM us the following information: IP address of the member: Username: Email address: Url of your forum: All this information is important With out this data we can not help with your problem. How to find the IP address of the member. To find the IP address of the member log on to your forum as Admin and then go to any post of that members and then click on the IP button on that post it will give you 1 to 100's of IP addresses we need the first one in the list. Please Don't list all the IP's as the ones below the first one is no longer getting used on that account. Our Process: The staff will then report this to our team and get this fixed as soon as we can. Please Note that on weekends our office is closed so it may take some time to get this done. A staff member will then post back to acknowledge your report and when your problem has been looked at we will report back here to each member by tagging your name on the posts. Why This is occurring: once or twice a year we get an update of a black list and some Email addresses, Ip addresses common usernames are on that list. when added to our systems it will then ban them names ip's or Emails We also have a Ip addresses blocker on our system that will pick up any member that has a lot of IP addresses and if it changes lots of times in a day / week / month it then Flags up on our servers and will keep a eye on that account and if it keeps going on it will ban the IP address. This is called a Blacklist we then go in and remove you / your members from that list. We apologize for the any delay and the inconvenience caused to you and your members. Forumotion Team |

Re: [ONLY TOPIC] detected suspicious activity
Okay, so I've checked in with this member today and she said the following:APE wrote:Hello, If McAfee pops up and says the site is not safe just add it to the Safe list.
The problem is not our end i don't think i have sent your members info on to our team but i can't see this is the same problem
Please advice your member that our site is 100% safe and that they should just white list the site in McAfee.
I have been trying to log on daily and as I mentioned before I could see the forum but as soon as I clicked on to a topic the warning came up and prevented me from viewing. All that has now changed and I cannot even see the forum - it just automatically goes to the warning red square and I can go no further.
Wonder what has happened?
I use lots of other forums and am having no problems with them.
Grrrrr
I just had a quick scout around this forum and found this topic: https://help.forumotion.com/t147997-only-topic-malicious-inappropriate-ads#1033993
I am now wondering if this issue is being caused by the forumotion advertisements?

Does your member mean that after logging in and clicking a topic this happened? It could be something with that topic.

ok you need to get a screen shot of what your member is seeing so we can see what it is.
Re: [ONLY TOPIC] detected suspicious activity
Okay, so here's her latest email, along with some screen shots:
None of our other members are experiencing this issue as far as I know.
Member wrote:Morning .... Just tried to log in again but no luck :-(
I do not get exactly the same warning as you have just shown me but I can show you the image of the new one (which now says I can accept the risk) and when I click on to further details it states that the activation and last seen date was 2011! Something is preventing me from getting on to the forum because as soon as I click on to log in or read a post I get shown the Whoa ..... Are you sure that you want to go there image.
I wonder what the heck is going on! I am not having any trouble with any other forums.

This is the image I've been furnished with. I've re-uploaded it, maybe you can see it more clearly if you click on full size.
I would appreciate it if this matter could be given some sense of urgency by forum support.
Thank you.

Re: [ONLY TOPIC] detected suspicious activity
I can read it perfectly fine. I've uploaded the image that was sent to me.
Can we please stop nitpicking and get on with actually resolving this member's connection problem?
Thank you.

The info is showing that it's down to McAfee your members needs to white list your forum address then run a scan.SophieDophs wrote:I can read it perfectly fine. I've uploaded the image that was sent to me.
