It just sits there trying to fool folks into clicking it on to get a false message, i haven't tried clicking the advert yet, no doubt it will direct me somewhere malicious.

After a short period of time a normal advert loads up, but the same trick message appears again a short while after. Is this an official Forumotion allowed (safe) advert? Please advise.

Hello @Leviosa This banner is not sending you to a new page unless your click on it.

this is one of the ad's we had problems with before you come to help us and google then Blocked sites with it on so its best we reported it as soon as we can so to stop the forums getting blocked by google.

I forgot to mention the browser i'm using, it's Firefox version 48.0.1 , it's the most recent update (24/8/2016).

I checked in on my forum today and the advert above (You have (1) message waiting.) seems to have disappeared, hopefully for good?.
In it's place is a nice colourful Manga style, G-Gameforce advert.

I ran into some questionable (phishing) banner ads as I was setting up and trying to debug the mobile version of the site. Due to some unknown bugs, the pull-down menu is off screen.

Just now, I decided to see if my Desktop Safari could replicate it using the user agent tool. This is so I could get to the image URL and it appears the technique worked. I got the ones I saw earlier on my iPhone and a few others.

There use to be a report topic for these none redirect ones but at the time of this posting it was lock and trashed. I just wanted to let you folks know these ads are showing up.

These ad I’m seeing aren’t redirecting as far as I can tell.
I doubt you folks want phishing type ads around though.

Any word on those 13 mobile phishing ads I reported. As I'm still seeing them. Is this going to be fixed soon or do I need to find another host? I can't support a host that appears to be supporting phishing scams.

Note: this is 14th phishing scam banner ad I’ve seen. Wonder why it happening and nothing being done with it.



Also is there a way to block the Phising ads on my fourm on my own? As it seems to take weeks to get help on here, by then a site I may want to sig advertise may acidently put my site on their black list due to those phishing ads as they could be interpted as Malware. Once that happens i'st likely a perment url blacklist and the only way to fix it will to move the site. Yes even if its fixed it will be to late and the only way to solve it would be to move the site and hope the core name is not blocked. I am still looking into anothe host for my site that meets requierment and does not have Phising ads. Since it seems unlikey they will be gotten rid on annytime soon.

I’m not sure what is going on and why there has been no response yet. Even if it's just to say you think the ads are safe despite how scam like they look.
Also Is this even in the right places as it keeps geting lost amongst other topics? The only other way I can think to fix it, is to buy credit to remove them for a year. Though it would be a last resort. At least till members start joining I could actually see a reason to get rid of them, if there where more members on my forum. I can also confrim I'm still seeing them.

That’s the problem, I started reporting these on November 5th, 2016, 9:09 pm, which was last Sunday.
An updated check was done on the 7th which was a Monday but I merged that post with the one for the 14th scam ad I found on November 11th, 2016, 2:32 pm which was a Friday afternoon.
Now it has been a week with nothing been done to at least the first 13.
I can see the 14th scam ad still being around since that was only noticed and reported later and now I’m debating on what to do as the first 13 have yet to be taken care of after a week. I’m starting to think I may be forced into using my last resort to get rid of those scam ads.

As I'm going to be busy Monday, I'm willing to give this till Monday night. Then I'll decided if I need to use the last resort to fix the issue and that would entail buying the credits so my members don't have to see all these icky scam ads and not having to worry about them accidently taping the scam ad when clearing their cell of an alert.

It takes time to determine who the ad provider is so that Forumotion can contact them about the ads.

Hate to say it but it’s seems as this is not going to be taken care of fast enough (I saw the visa, a wheel one, and an iPhone one less then 30 minutes ago), I’m on another site on another host and it took them less than a week to deal with an ad after I report a questionable one.

I feel this has forced my hand, I’m going to have to buy the credits to removed the ads (for logged in members only) for a year. I was really hoping to wait till people started joining and not be forced into buying them just to get rid of scam ads for our members own safety at this rate it seems it’s the only option left if I don’t want to move the site. Since it took a lot to redo the CSS I would rather not move again at this rate. The good news is at least the credit prices are affordable. Plus if those scam ads stick around on my forum site any longer there is a very high risk of that accidentally but permanent URL ban coming into play on a site I want to sig advertise on ,by the time this is fixed it may be too late. Unless I do something myself.

For others people safety, please still get rid of those scams ads so other forums here aren’t forced into what I’m being forced to do just to get rid of them. I have noticed that when I am logged out of my forum I don't seem to see the scam ads.

Edit: What I've been forced into doing has been done. As the scam ad still around seem it may be a month before they are dealt with and this cause an even higher probability of that accidental but permanent URL ban coming into play. It happened to another site I was on. They have since fixed their issues but the ban is still in place on site B, hence permanent. I'm doing this only for my forum and members protection with all those scam ads and how easy they where to tap.

For now I am going to say the XTREM method of buying credits is the faster solution. Though it seems kind of ridiculous to be paying just to get rid of ads due to a huge amount of scam ads and the dangerous they pose. I was forced into buying ad credits as I  could not risk the PERMEANT url ban due to MALWARE problems on my main forum site with the very slow time frame with getting rid of the nasty scam ads. It has been like a Month already.  

I figured if I waited any longer for Forumotion to fix this, my forum site would be slapped with a PERMEANT URL ban for MALWARE due to the scam ads. As I said once before once the ban happens there is no way to remove it even if a fix is in place after the fact.

Due to this I was forced for the protection of the forum and my members to buy credits. However I wanted to check in on the status of those nasty ads which should be gone by now but something told me it was doubtful.  So I’m using the test site I made well trying to debug the main forum’s backgrounds as that one does not have the ad removal and it’s no big deal if a url ban happens on the test sit as that what it is there for testing and debugging stuff.

Majority of the scam ads are still around be careful not to tap links on acident. I’m just doing the report for Forumotion's record keeping as they are still around. I have given up hope at this point in time that they will be dealt with. I think  the only way now is Forumotion has to fully get slapped with a full url ban for them to do something.

Doing my usually check in hopes this has finally been taken care of. As this has been going on past a month now. All but 10 was sen on top of NEW ones, this includes that misleading one too.

When we have complete information (mobile or desktop version, OS, country, IP, date and hour, link address...), it's easy to block the ads. Unfortunately, it's really rare to have as much information from users.

About time this is dealt with. Hopefully turn around is quicker on their end.

Mobile ads can be tricky if you are on the mobile device itself as there is no easy way to grab img url on there. However I realized if I used the Desktop Safari’s user agent the same result occur with me being able to grab the image code and link.



A few small suggestion:
First it may help to pin/sticky this so it does not end up in the trash again, as ad problems are not unusually but having a tone is.

Also maybe a little edit to the first post would help:
