In progress Google Chrome - Mobile / Tablet

Post by Frank_Wx December 24th 2016, 4:14 pm

This browser is not working properly on a mobile or tablet device. After 2 minutes go by, the forum starts to freeze and the only way to unfreeze is to open a new tab then go back to the original tab. It's very slow too. This has been going on for 2 weeks.

Hello,

I cannot reproduce the issue. I checked on my tablet using Google Chrome, but the forum did not freeze.

Hello,

I have had this happen before. It does not happen all the time everytime, but only sometimes when viewing a forumotion forum from google chrome. I first noticed it yesterday. Thought maybe it was my now 3 year old tablet acting up. I guess it wasn't.

I am not sure if we should report this issue or not, since it only happens sometimes.

It happens to me all the time now. Ever since I got my new Galaxy S7 Edge. I'll ask other users it they're having an issue. Are there any remedies I can try in the meantime?

Does this happen while you're in the mobile version or in the classic version?

For me it was on classic version as well. Like I said it does not happen all the time. Just sometimes, atleast for me. First it happened it happened on my tablet and a simple refresh solved the issue I believe (I may have had to open a new tab or something but I do not remmeber exactly). Then I had it happen once on my phone, but it only happened just that once on my phone and again a simple refresh fixed it I believe. It did definitelly froze those 2 times though because I scroll or click anything.

I wonder if it is worse on some devices then on others, which may explain why some people can experience this more or less then others.

I will be chrome from my phone later today and if I experience it again I will let you know.

Hello,

I do not reproduce either Confused

Let me remind you that the classic mobile version is no longer supported and we strongly recommend you to use the modern mobile version in order to fully enjoy your forum on your smartphones and tablets Wink

Hello,

Just wanted to say that it hasn't happened to me for a few days. I think it may have just been a coincidence.

Frank_Wx have you tried clearing you cafhe and cookies on chrome on your phone and making sure your chrome is up to date?

-Brandon

Edit: I JUST had happend to me on my forum. After about 10 minutes of posting and browsing, it froze in chrome on me. I cant scroll or nothing. The snow on the forum I have on the holidays stopped moving as well during this time.

Here is the best screenshot I could get (notice how the snow doesn't appear to be moving): Google Chrome - Mobile / Tablet Screen10

Time it happened: around 12pm est
Browser: Chrome
Os: Android

Once again it happened only after about 10 minutes of constant browsing and posting and such.

It just happened to me again on chrome from mobile on classic version.

This time I wasnt even on the forum for 3 seconds before it froze.

Hello, I am currently experiencing this problem within my forum: www.fairytailhaven.forumotion.com and the effects are starting to seep into a forum I administer on: www.abraxas.forumotion.com
My members have messaged me and it all seems to originate from Chrome networks. I have tried removing the entire coding, but it does not work and I have also done a complete clear of my browsers [told my members to do the same] and it still does not help.

They have also sent me the following pictures:
1. https://i.imgur.com/XYAcD2E.png
2. https://i.imgur.com/SgZaHkl.png

They have also sent me the following concerning their devices:
- Chrome 55 on Windows 10 * 64-bit

-Device: MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2015)
OS Version: OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
Browser: Google Chrome
Browser Version: Version 55.0.2883.95 (64-bit)

-Google Chrome OS
Browser: Google Chrome
Browser Version: Version 55.0.2883.103 (64-bit)

BUMPING as this issue has truly begun to hit hard on the site I currently own. I cannot log onto the site without it having enormous amounts of lag and it freezing up my computer.

ok please do the following:

Please look at the bottom of your screen and you will see a small bar at the bottom of the page i think its left hand side on all browsers.

Now in that bar it has a lot of commands that the site sends to your browser and addresses.

Now the ones that take a long time are always the last ones to hit the page witch is big Images or sites that host them like photobucket and tinypic

now look at this bar and give us the address it makes your forum freeze at. or slows your site right down.

it should look like this

www.f49.maxns.net is a host that hosts items from the internet images and backgrounds.
The reason for your site running slow is this site is running slow so it then hits your forum like it;s not right as our system has to find the site and load it up before going to the next step.

my advice is to host everything with our host to make sure it's running to it's max.

the problem now is finding the items / images that are hosted by that site.
