Mozilla Firefox Latest Updates

Hello dear all,
I created this topic to inform f/m users for mozilla firefox latest updates. Mozilla just released final version of FireFox to version 51. This update makes firefox working faster and using less resources than previous versions.

So guys, what do you think about this new firefox? I'm a bit tired of Chrome and I'm thinking about making a browser's change.

Does it have everything Chrome has? Does it feel a difference in the memory that the computer uses, and therefore an improvement in your computer's speed?

I don't know if someone did the change from Chrome to Firefox as I'm wanting to, but if you have some reviews (any kind) they will be much appreciated on my side.

I don't wanna feel forced to come back once I start my "changing process". I can wait a bit longer if this is not a good chance yet. I don't hurry by now.

I have been tested all of the latest versions of Firefox but the problem with memory leaking (draining) is still remaining especially on Windows 10 versions. What I am meaning? If you have opened the firefox with opened 10-20 or more tabs about 3-4 hours you will see your RAM memory reaching its limits. This bug called RAM Memory draining/leakage and you must close and open again the firefox to release your RAM. This bug was appeared when mozilla was added the SSL function in URL bar. We have already reported many times this bug on Bugzilla but they are saying that our forums containing orphaned nodes. Now another side-effect of this bug is that its reducing the SSD hard disk lifespan because the firefox is caching all of this memory usage on hard disk in this case on SSD. You can imagine that firefox is writing 4GB or 8GB or more in Firefox's cache memory depending your system's RAM (very often it uses 97% of your RAM) which is located on your system disk (C:). For your information the SSDs have lifespan in average some WTB (Writting TerraBytes) i.e 50WTB~60WTB. When these limits reached the SSD is switching automatically into read-only mode such the cells have been destroyed from writting data on them and there aren't any cells available more.

Well, I guess I am lucky since I do not have 10 or 20 tabs open at once.

Thank you @Van-Helsing for the objectivity of your review. Something like that is what I was expecting to hear. To prevent any kind of complication I'll wait longer to make the change. I'm 80% secure Firefox will be my next browser but for now, I'll just have to wait and decide when the time comes.

Plus, adding my opinion it's catastrophic that things like that happen. I guess it's hard to test everything and release the browser bulletproof, but things like that should be tested IMO. Whatever, the browser is new and if their tech team is concerned and knows the problem they will eventually fix it.

I am one of those who decided to change from chrome to firefox.
Since I changed, I have noticed an improvement in the loading of certain pages, such as forumotion forums.

Before my fear was the Flash plugin, which always ended up failing me but that disabled was left forever!
Google Chrome consumes your RAM by so many tabs and sub processes that it handles when using it.

My computer is something old and the truth is that I do notice a difference between both browsers (counting that I only have 4gb of ram)
