Question about admin section security
I have an admin section with restricted access , i have had reports from other admin that other guests were viewing the admin section according to the whois widget.
is it possible ?
could it be hack snoopers?
also would a private section be visible to bots/crawlers and could this be the culprit? If so then is there a way to restrict this?
thanks

Re: Question about admin section security
hello
can you pm me the link to check if i can see your section as a guest
If you don't want bots to see some parts of your forum then make it members only and not open to guests that way the bots cant see it only your members can (if you have added your site to google/bing then you can not stop bots they are automatically checking your forum)

Re: Question about admin section security
Hello I can help here.
If you have set a forum to only Admin's / Mods then No one else can see that part of the forum.
Now and then our system will show a Guest on some parts of the forum this is 100% normal This is down to a part of our system running in the background and lagging.
It is really no need to worry about.

Re: Question about admin section security
Even if it shows guests viewing an area not visible to them, all they see is the log in boxes.
