Important : back up of all the deleted messages and topics

Dear users,

This week-end, we had to deal with a big threat that has impacted a lot of users : indeed, all the "visitors" messages where deleted from most of the forums. Thousands of forums where impacted and we had to do something, because sometimes, visitors messages are just the messages from the old members and a part of the forum history, so we had to save it.

For that, we have to make a back up from all the Forumotion forums. Don't worry : only the messages that you deleted during these past 2 weeks will be impacted. That means that you might see a topic that you deleted recently reappearing on your forum. You can just delete it again Wink

Thanks to this back up, thousands of forums will find back their History with a big H.

We are really sorry for this inconvenience :rose:

On my forums, the topics/posts that have been restored exactly show has not being there. After clicking them, they go back to being deleted.

Well, so I lost all messages from guests and not just the last 2 weeks. But also last year and the year before. And then there are over 2000 messages that are not corrected by some questions / answers. Thanks.

Please follow this easy step to see if this gets fixed,

ACP >> General Tab >>  Forum >> Configuration >>
Scroll down the bottom of the page and click >> Resynchronize your forum :  Check to resynchronize Then Save.
If this don't work please post your forum address so i can get this looked at.

Go through your forum and check to see if the missing things are exactly there. On my forums yesterday, my statistics did not exactly match what was on my forum. They do now.

The question is, therefore, everything that a guest has typed / written has disappeared.

I made a mistake. It was not deleted topics, but archived topics.

On our Forum, Taggerz Haven, we had lots of old posts show back up is all. Some from way back in March and April of this year. No problem tho, we are just re-deleting them. I believe all current posts and topics are still intact. Thanks!

We keep getting forums and messages that were deleted long ago showing up in random places. You asked us to delete them, but each time we delete them, a few hours later these old forums and old topics randomly appear again everywhere. I'm talking about 10,000+ old topics at least and many old forums, which has to get deleted manually every few hours. Please fix this issue as quick as possible, because it is affecting the entire forum and the members.

You could post an announcement on your forums letting your members know what is going on. Also you can share on social media if your forums' have accounts.
